Does anyone know what is the story with Oisín foley?? gannett83 (Wexford) - Posts: 322 - 26/02/2024 21:59:52 2528505 Link 0 |
Two wins and we could be there. That's hard to imagine though Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3884 - 26/02/2024 22:14:58 2528510 Link 0 |
This is probably the hardest time we've had picking a team in a long time which is fantastic. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3884 - 26/02/2024 22:35:40 2528511 Link 0 |
If we win the next game we will win the last game!

I think we beat waterford. Also with possibly a few more back by the time of the Cork game I wouldn't hold much fear of them either at this time of year. ChinCanHurl (Wexford) - Posts: 302 - 27/02/2024 06:58:24 2528528 Link 0 |
Without knowing if everyone is fully fit it's impossible to name a team now. If Lee, Dee, Mogie, Matthew, Kevin, Shane, Damien, Jippo, Oisin and Rory are FULLY fit they have to start. Devitt, Dwyer, Donohue, Jacko, Mac and Dunbar are currently fighting for a place I feel. I need to see more of Duggan. I'd like to see more of him. I'd like to see Doyle and Mark Byrne get a good half against Waterford or Cork. Assuming, from rumours heard, that Oisin isn't fit before the start of the championship in around 8 weeks, and that Dee, Mac and Mikey are only fit enough for a half game, hoping like mad Rory is fully fit, and wanting the team nearly to be as strong finishing as starting, I'd go- Duggan Shane, Foley, Jippo Devitt, Damien, Matthew Kevin, Hearne Dunbar, Chin, Jacko Mogie, Casey, Rory. Jacko to be replaced after 15 minuutes if he's not in the game. Hard enough to pick that without condensing the other 20 odd lads into 11 places so I'm not going to. Forgot Molloy on my team. He could very well start in championship . Think he needs to be back to stake his claim in the next 2 games though. Its great we finally have game changers to come of the bench . Managing Chin will be key through the round robin . Lee just wont be able to play 5 games of 70 + minutes over 7 weeks

Watched the match last night here, a solid performance overall with lots to work on. It is February. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1923 - 27/02/2024 09:47:22 2528547 Link 0 |

Do Wexford want to win the league? Final is 2 weeks before championship. ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1461 - 27/02/2024 11:10:10 2528569 Link 0 |
Given the 7-8 experienced players we still have to return id be delighted if we got to a league final to get more game time into those lads and more top level exposure for our younger lads. We arent in a position in Wexford to be turning down a place in a national league final. We would still have 2 weeks to prepare for Dublin and would probably be playing a challenge game that weekend anyway. It's hard to see us reaching the league final at the moment we would need to beat Cork and Waterford, get ahead on Clare or KK on score difference and then beat one of Galway, Limerick or Tipp in a semi final

I wouldn't have conceded a goal either. They had no shots on goal the whole game!!!!

After being at the league games it's brilliant that lads are getting exposure and willing to dog it out but shows the step up from Wexford club hurling to inter county is huge. McGukian stand out performer in the club champ but will struggle to make wing back based on Leinster Club and league to date. Pity that Cian Molloy didn't commit sooner and do the same S&C as McGukian has for the last 5 years as has all the hurling but looks too light and breaking down with injury now regularly grassroots01 (Wexford) - Posts: 182 - 27/02/2024 11:52:17 2528584 Link 0 |

Dissapointed to hear Oisin is out for the season. Has done well for us the last 2 years is probably a certain starter if fully fit. Hope to see him back in a Wexford jersey next year. On the injury front Joe O Connor and Cian Molloy are expected back in the squad for the trip to Waterford. ROC , Dwyer , Mac and Jippo could be back for Cork game while Dee and Mogie will only feature at the end of March if we reach a league semi.

Is the Cork game on the 16th or Paddy's day? Hopefully it won't be clashing with the rugby. OpenStandWall (Wexford) - Posts: 286 - 27/02/2024 12:22:33 2528591 Link 0 |
