Replying To Seeking_silver:  "But is pulling the face guard not a red card offence?"
If you look at the incident, one of Jacks hand is up at his face trying to protect himself from a Kings fingers in his eyes, and then the other hand is just hitting out as a means of getting king off him, so there was no malice or intent in Jacks actions, I'd be very sure he probably couldn't see what he was doing as there was finger in his eyes. So I'd assume he got off on the basis of no malice/intent in his actions and he threw his arm out as a means of protection.

He didn't actually pull the faceguard. He pushed the top of the other players helmet with his hand. He couldn't see what he was doing as his faceguard had been pulled down.

Agreed.

A classy and intelligent hurler. Great physique and loads of confidence too.

He's the best we've produced in a good while.

Good luck to the lads today, it looks like it will be a wet one.

Think that's an advantage to Clare to be honest.

They're obviously excellent at a running game too but they're a very physical side on a heavy pitch.

Hopefully the lads will be well up for it.

Expect Jack to start anyway, and chinner to operate a little further out.

A little disappointed tucker isn't starting. A good strong lad for a day like today.

Hearnes contribution in midfield will have to be at his very best.

Looking forward to sitting in the main stand for the first time in about a decade

Rain is supposed to ease off this afternoon. Was out on the pitch at halftime and after the game yesterday the pitch was in great shape hopefully this mornings rain won't affect it too much! Good luck to the lads no reason they can't win!

Hearne really needs to step up today. He's looked off it last 2 games.

Encouraging enough considering our performance vs them last year and the in-game injuries in the first half. Perhaps should have won it, and Dunbar definitely should have netted that chance after Casey's glorious set up. The standard was very poor though and Clare looked like a team with bigger targets in sight. Our stickwork and passing remains in 'needs to improve' column.

Damien Reck was outstanding and looked back to his best, his brother stood out too. Thought Lawlor had a very good second half when he drifted out the field, and Casey must be close to nailing down a spot now (missed free or two aside). CBD had his moments again, neither of the Byrne's did much and Tucker probably didn't get enough game-time when we needed to change something midway through the second half.

He got a great point towards the end that got the crowd pumped but Jacko simply doesn't do enough with his size and physique, all too often dispossessed too easily.

Hopefully Chin's injury isn't too serious (and it looked more precautionary than anything else), but I'd rather wrap him in cotton wool now until the last round of league/first round of Leinster. Way too important to us to risk.

Dissapointing to not snatch the win but a lot of positives to take from that. Casey is immense and has to be a starter for championship

Plenty of chances for both teams.

Rossi still unbeaten. I'll take that

Happy enough with how we battled and finished, could have went either way. After Chin got injured I thought we wouldn't win but Casey really stood up. Hearne played well I thought l, Cathal Dunbar looked lively too. Very hard to get a measure of where we are at in those conditions but I'm sure the younger players will take confidence from this even if we didn't win.

Would be happy enough with how we defended on the whole, think that was Conor Hearne's best performance in a Wexford jersey, Richie Lawlor is a lot better when he plays out the field.

Very hard conditions to hurl in, wouldn't be too worried about the execution, would be more focused on the grit showed by the team, having a good spirit is the most important attriubute any team/player can have

The team that finished today's game contained 6 of players who played in the last two Leinster U20 finals.
Ryan, Foley, Lawlor, Byrne , Corey, Tucker.

I really like the work that is happening and although it was a poor enough game today we are really competitive. If the Reck's, Liam og, Rory and Chin can be kept fit we have a chance of making a Leinster final.

Compared to last year it was chalk and cheese anyway in terms of effort, desire and organisation. Difficult day for forwards or young players generally, given the day physical strength was always going to be key. Thought the players reacted very well after Chin's injury. Distribution at times was poor and we coughed up possession too soft at times. Entertaining game.
I thought Fanning was solid, full back line very good. Eoin Ryan did well again and both Recks very good. Donohue was roasted by Fitzgerald, surprised we didn't try someone else on him. His distribution is suspect for half back really. Still a spot there up for grabs.

I was really impressed by Lawlor and Hearne in the second half, best I've seen them play at this level. Casey from play was outstanding, absolute certainty to start v Dublin if fit. Chin started very well too. The rest didn't lack for effort but found the going tough. Corey had some nice moments but overplays the ball too much. Dunbar worked very hard but that missed goal chance was criminal. Jacko, won some good balls and lost many easier ones. Did stay at it to get the equaliser but we need a lot more from him.

February hurling lads hard to read too much into it. Great not to lose. Still in with a shout of 1a. Keith has the lads playing with grit and intensity, and a style to suit our younger and generally smaller players. We need half backs who can play better long ball into the spaces for the inside forwards to run out onto, though I though Ryan did well enough defensively. They probably had more of their better players on in the 2nd half, while we were down I think 12 of the lads who started against Kilkenny in last year's championship, so that was encouraging also. 2 week break til the Waterford game, so hopefully Devitt, O Hanlon, and maybe some of the others who haven't played League yet this year can get some hurling and fitness work done before then.
