Replying To Viking66:  "Hope so too. We will need him to be at his best. Any injury news?"
Was hoping the people paper would have something online this week

Think it was 18 but not sure if that was the Offaly game, the Leitrim game or the Offaly and Leitrim games put together. Apparently there was an apology.

Fanning starts in goal, Jacko not even in the squad. Kevin Foley named at corner forward so I presume we're deploying a sweeper

Apparently there was an apology the next day after the Offaly game before there was ever a file sent in by Wexford GAA, from my understanding they were advised to send in a file of everything missed. And there was a lot, a lot of inconsistencies in the refereeing and also a few incidents of quite dangerous play that was never penalised at all and no frees awarded for them even. But all that above is stuff we knew about and spoke about already! Roll on Sunday, I think it's a big ask to beat Clare, but I do think that if we show good work rate and fight, we could be a lot more competitive than many others think

Team was submitted before they knew Jacko was available so I'd expect a change, most of the games so far this year either Foley or Chin have started in FF line at the throw in and moved out as an extra body around the HF line so I'd expect that again.

Ref next Sunday was linesman for the Offaly game, linesman that deemed Charlie's offence a straight red.

To be fair it was a red. I was sitting right in front of the incident, a row behind the subs and even they were shouting something along the lines of "late swing". I could even hear the clatter off the players helmet

To be honest I thought Charlie's was reasonable enough.

Both feet were off the ground and he'd no chance of playing the ball. He just hit the runner a slap in the face.

More importantly, I'd expect Jack to start and I reckon we need a big game from him. Not sure who'll lose out on the match day squad.

The team seems balanced enough. We know the effort will be there.

Two concerns though. One as usual being our ability to win primary possession. We'll have to be very sharp and move the ball much quicker than we did against Offaly. Hopefully the conditions will help.

Second is a lack of physicality in midfield. Two lovely hurlers there but they'll need a lot of support.

This will go one of two ways. I'd be a little afraid of a trimming if we don't start strong.

If it's a close game I can't see us losing by a point or two. If we're in it with 5 minutes to go I think we'll win.

Realistically, 3 points from the remaining games will do us. That's a win, a draw and a loss.

As negative as all the talk was last week, we're still unbeaten.

You'd have taken two points on the board at this stage.

We would of course. All 3 games are as winnable as they are losable.

I'm another who thought that Charlie's red card was fair enough. It was a bad swing with the hurl from a prone position to try stop a man from getting past him, and it connected high with that man.

Fact that it wasn't appealed as well when by all accounts they were putting together a video of up to 15 or 18 things the referee got wrong suggests that Wexford officialdom thought it was fair enough too.

How come Jack O'Connor got his red card rescinded? He did commit a red card offence??

But is pulling the face guard not a red card offence?

No seemingly the rule states something along the lines of in a dangerous manner that's likely to cause injury. I thought the same as you did tbh.

Thats a shame. Hopefully nothing too serious, really think Molloy has a chance of nailing down a spot on the half back line.

Yes. We are sorely lacking in options there.
