You're right, Wexford need not worry about Galway in this year's league or championship, they'll be firing blanks!

Concannon is out for the season so you can "blank" him out too. Along with Jason Flynn, Shane Cooney and Darren Morrissey (probably filling the 2 and 4 spots)

You have some excellent young hurlers to fill those blanks it's a shame for you that SON didn't give them more gametime the last few years. That's not to say that Galway wont come good I'm sure Shefflin will have them very well motivated if nothing else.

Well you left out Fintan Burke for starters, which is odd, as he's a cert to start.

John Cooney, Sean Mcdonagh, and Donal O Shea all did well last year for Galways u20s. Agree the conveyor belt of top talent they had in the late 00s early 10s seems to have dried up somewhat the last 4 or 5 years though.

He didn't start last year v Waterford and was taken off v Dublin? Was he injured?
But fair enough, thats one.

From your earlier blanked out list (!) How about Fintan Burke 7. Jonny Coen 8. Ronan Glennon 9. Monaghan HF. Conor Whelan FF. C Mannion Centre Forward. Cooney Corner Forward. Agree no nailed on cornerbacks though.

Grealish and Fitzpatrick were the cornerbacks in the Limerick game. Other options are Tuohy, Coen, Cronin and Barrett. Morrissey and Cooney would probably be first choice if they were not injured. Brennan may be given a chance at left cornerback with possibly Fitzpatrick in the other corner but that is still TBD. For no. 8 Joseph Cooney is starting there the last few games.

Conor Whelan, Cathal Mannion and one of the Cooneys can't play in two positions. They're already named.

I moved Conor Cooney into the inside forward line and left Joe Cooney in the half forward line where Larry had him. Think Glennon and Coen better there in midfield than half forward. I was just filling in the blanks that Larry had was all. To show you have a pretty good front 8 despite all the injuries. Actually never realised til Larry produced the half blank team sheet just how many lads ye have out injured tbh. And are all these lads out of the whole league? Whole season? Or what?

Would Tuohy not be better at wingback?

He is a utility type player - can play in the backs, midfield or forwards. He did win an AI in 2017 playing at right corner-back with Hanbury in the other corner.

We clearly should have gone to Wexford instead of Kilkenny for a management team.

I know Larry. Read my post again. I moved Conor Cooney and Conor Whelan into the FF line and Cathal Mannion to centre forward. And replaced them where they were.

He did very well as a de factor sweeper that year. And is very good linking play going forwards and taking points and even goals. Wasted cornerback.
