Gary Delaney has been named as the new Corofin senior football manager.

The former Corofin player, who led Dunmore MacHales to a Galway IFC title two years ago, replaces Sligo native Kevin Johnson, who bowed out in the wake of Corofin's surprise Connacht club SFC quarter-final loss to Padraig Pearses last month. It came after the five-time All-Ireland club champions retained their Galway SFC crown at Moycullen's expense.

"Gary had a distinguished playing career with Corofin with his first county senior championship in 2002 and winning a club All-Ireland in 2015 being the highlights of his club career. Gary quickly found his feet in coaching and management with great success in recent years," the Galway giants said in a social media post.

Meanwhile, former Clare footballer Evan Talty has joined the Limerick senior football management as a coach for 2025.

Talty won nine Clare SFC medals and two Munster club SFC titles as a player with Kilmurry-Ibrickane, and also helped Clare to Tommy Murphy Cup success in 2004.
