Ratoath defeated Drumbaragh in the Division 4 final
That’s it for another year. What started out in mid March came to a conclusion last night in Dunganny.
Interesting fact: not one of the league leaders after the 11 rounds in the top five Divisions finished with silverware. Roll on the championship.
Summerhill claimed their second Division 1 title in three years. Seneschalstown made a quick return to the top tier with silverware. Kilbride’ star continues to rise. Ratoath’s second’s were too strong for Drumbaragh. Moylagh caused an upset in Division 5. Silverware for Summerhill (Division 6), Dunderry (Division 7), St. Ultans (Division 8), St. Pats (Division 9), Longwood (Division 10) and Cortown (Division 11).

Monday: The festival of football league finals that began a week ago came to a conclusion last night at Dunganny. As in last year’s Intermediate Football Championship decider Kilbride held the upper hand over Castletown to claim Division 3 silverware. The introduction of Conor McWeeney in the second half proved crucial for Anthony Moyles’ men. Before the game started there was a minutes silence for the late Rachel McManus.

Saturday: Seneschalstown completed their return to the top tier with silverware after their three point win over Simonstown at a wet, yes wet, and windy Pitch 6 in Dunganny. Captain Eoin Finnegan got the winners goal from the penalty spot. The Yellow Furze men led 1-9 to 0-10 at the break.
Ratoath proved too strong for Drumbaragh in the Division 4 final at Walterstown. The winners led 2-4 to 0-4 at the break
Moylagh caused upset in the Division 5 final at Cortown with nine points to spare over a previously unbeaten Gael Colmcille. Peadar Byrne’s men were in front 2-13 to 1-5 at half time.
There was silverware for Dunderry in Boardsmill and safety for St. Ultans in Division 4 along with Blackhall Gaels in Division 3.

Friday: Summerhill were crowned Division 1 football league winners with three points to spare over Ratoath on Pitch 6 at Dunganny. It was the first loss for Kevin Daly’s charges during the campaign. The Keegan Cup holders kicked six two pointers as they claimed their 2nd Mooney Cup in 3 years. Keeper Sean Muddiman was the winners top scorer with six points.
Elsewhere there was silverware for St. Pats in Castletown, Longwood after extra time in Skryne and a two point win for Cortown in Martry.

Thursday: Skryne secured their Division 1 status with four points to spare over Moynalvey at Dunshaughlin. The Tara men led 2-5 to 1-7 at the break.
Clann na nGael picked up their second win of the league campaign and their most important to retain their Division 2 status. Rathkenny, who finished 6 points above the Athboy/Rathcairn outfit will play Division 3 in 2027 after an extra time defeat in Kilmainham.
In Division 5 Drumconrath survived and sent Simonstown seconds to Division 6 where they will join neighbours Navan O’Mahony’s.

Wednesday: Kilbride and Castletown will meet in the Division 3 final in a repeat of last year’s thrilling IFC decider. The top two teams after 11 games, Slane and St. Michaels will have to wait another year.
It was the same situation in Division 4. Bective finished seven points ahead of Drumbaragh and Ratoath but the later two will contest the final on Saturday. The Drums needed a late two pointer to earn promotion.
Moylagh were too strong for Kilmainhamwood in Division 5 while unbeaten Gaeil Colmcille needed extra time to see off the challenge of Duleek Bellewstown to set up a final date with Peadar Byrne’s charges.
Extra time was also needed in Longwood as Summerhill’s seconds completed what they hope will be a league double seeing off Boardsmill by a point in a thrilling Division 6 final. They take on Ratoath in the Division 1 decider on Friday.

Tuesday: It will be a repeat of last years senior football championship final when Ratoath and Summerhill meet in the Division 1 FL decider on Friday. Ratoath turned in an impressive first half display and led 1-15 to 0-3 at half time. Over on Pitch 6 in Dunganny Summerhill had 8 points to spare over Gaeil Colmcille. The Kells side led 1-6 to 1-3 at the break but by the end of the 3rd quarter the Keegan Cup holders were 1-12 to 1-7 in front.
Seneschalstown and Simonstown will ply their trade in Division 1 next season. Seneschalstown trailed by three points at the break. A Darren O’Brien goal in the second half proved crucial as the Yellow Furze men made a return to the top division at the first time of asking. In a low scoring encounter Simonstown booked their place in next years Division 1 with two points to spare over Duleek Bellewstown at Walterstown. The winners led 1-3 to 0-5 at half time.

Monday: St. Ultans were too strong for Bective in the Division 8 final. A Tom Brennan goal along with fine points from full forward Adam Rogers and Tommy Buchanan gave the winners a 1-10 to 0-7 interval lead. Referee John O'Brien issued three red cards in the closing minutes of the second half
