I not believe that the Kerry team that won All-Irelands back to back 2006/07 were a better team than the Tyrone side of 2005/08. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1792 - 25/09/2012 19:25:51 1272761 Link 0 |
That Tyrone side were supreme, and Kerry? Well they're just Kerry! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8816 - 25/09/2012 19:34:17 1272771 Link 0 |
Read the thread. Tyrone never even made 2 succesive finals, let alone put all-irelands back to back. Good teams win all-irelands but great teams put them back to back. kerry74 (Kerry) - Posts: 1354 - 25/09/2012 19:50:03 1272783 Link 0 |
Lads, Kerry and Tyrone, how we have fallen, 03 to 09 were golden times in our counties, now we are fighting who was better. its sad really. kerryrowz (Kerry) - Posts: 833 - 25/09/2012 20:09:35 1272797 Link 0 |
I never had any time for that Team Of The Decade nonsense............even though it was TYRONE by a country mile. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9837 - 25/09/2012 20:19:30 1272803 Link 0 |

Dublin are GREAT then, JayP (Dublin) - Posts: 1772 - 26/09/2012 19:03:38 1273425 Link 0 |
You only have to be the best in any one year for instance Offaly won the All-Ireland's of 1971/72 but in my opinion the Cork team of 1973 was better when they put five goals past Kerry and Tyrone and three goals against Galway in the final. Kerry won more All-Ireland's in the 1970's but I though Dublin with their victories over Kerry in 1976/77 were the better team. Kerry deserved to be called a great team over the period 2000-09 but when they came up against Tyrone on three occasions they lost to the better team. Hard to see anyone stop Kerry getting a double. Treble is easily on the cards for this team Kew (Galway) - Posts: 253 - 27/07/2025 17:11:30 2628274 Link 0 |
Time to split them in two. You lot said it about Dubs a few years ago. Also Give Connacht a break. GAA sickening bias against Galway and Mayo. Split Kerry in two!

Dublin were better than Kerry in 1976 and 1977, and not 1975. But Micko 'doubled everything' for 1978, and Kerry were vastly superior to Dublin in 1978 and 1979. So Kerry were better than Dublin more than vice versa in the 70s.

I don't blame you. This constant harking back to half a century or more ago when the game was hardly a reflection of today's game and the same with players. Total nonsense comparisons
