Basically, what you're saying is the result in Ennis was poor (we can't use the sending off as an excuse!), and our loss to Limerick was shocking, yet when we actually won matches, it was the opposition who were poor, or we only won because the opposition had a player sent off. Look, that's your myopic view and your entitled to it… bloodandbandage (Cork) - Posts: 428 - 15/07/2025 14:02:11 2625840 Link 0 |
In fairness its logical to think that Cork have to be firm favourites. They won the League, they won the Munster championship. They have the hurt and lessons learned from last year driving them on and they seemed to have dampened down the hype machine, outside noise and proclamations that they were making before the final last year. All of which are massive positives. They seem like a group in the zone, who are primed to complete the task. LimerickandProud (Limerick) - Posts: 193 - 15/07/2025 14:22:45 2625845 Link 0 |
He's a Spurs fan. I'm sure he's well used to teams he follows snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.....

Yes, Cork were 10 points up against Clare with 13 minutes remaining! Clare were still 3 points down going into additional time. So no, to me it wasn't "impressive" to snatch a draw. If Cork had a man sent off at the throw in or after 15mins like Dublin had against Limerick then absolutely it would have been impressive. The mental drain of losing a game like that... goway! Limerick aren't some famished team. They had won 6 in a row. Their target was always the big one. They took Dublin for granted and Dublin having a man sent off was the worst thing that ever happened to them as everyone in the world bar the Dublin players could ONLY see a Limerick victory. and the players played exactly like a team who thought the game was won. There is no bitterness in my post I just have an opinion that you don't like because I can see things clearly without bias. I have no care for who wins on Sunday other than it being a great competitive game. mr305 (Galway) - Posts: 76 - 15/07/2025 16:58:01 2625895 Link 0 |
Cork beat Waterford and Dublin two poor teams and of course Tipperary and that defeat of Tipp could well be the rock you perish on come Sunday because Tipperary aren't going up to Croke Park to roll over and bend the knee to Cork....one word for you....Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip,Tip!!!

You left out the Munster Final where I said it was Cork's best performance of the year. I also didn't say you beat Waterford because they were poor but it wasn't a great Cork performance at the same time. Myopic view... how kind of you. Unfortunately taking every championship game into account to base an opinion on the final is the exact opposite meaning of myopic. So ill keep you happy by saying this instead... Cork will win by 20 points. rebels abu. as a reasoned perspective has you rather rattled! mr305 (Galway) - Posts: 76 - 15/07/2025 19:23:58 2625928 Link 0 |
Haha, ah sure at least the kilkenny jubilee team will be there on Sunday, that'll be interesting

Yes, you did mention that it was Corks's best game, but in the same paragraph you questioned how good Limerick were because of the Dublin result, and then stated 'how good was it'. I'll say no more.

DJC will need a brass neck to show his face for that one... Awkward one for the GAA too, they have to introduce him. I think I'll get in early to get a look!

DJC will not be there. They will however, be calling out his name, I'm pretty sure he was MoM in that final. I believe Cody won't be there also? Maybe CC can confirm

Yes I posed the question of how good Limerick were based on Dublin beating them with 14 men for the majority of the game and how easily Cork then dispatched Dublin. This Dublin team have flattered to deceive all year, down by 16 points to Kilkenny at half time in leinster. They were 10 points down to (a very poor) Galway side with 5 mins to go and glossed over the performance with 2 "garbage time" goals when the game was over. And then they lose by the biggest margin in a semi final since Antrim in 1943! So I think a valid question indeed. I am not sure why you have taken such exception to it. You know this is the purpose of a forum, to discuss things? mr305 (Galway) - Posts: 76 - 16/07/2025 10:48:59 2626017 Link 0 |
They did away with the representation a year or two ago. If you're not able to attend, they just call out your name.

In 1943 Antrim beat Galway in the AIQF and then beat Kilkenny in the AISF.

Ah that's fair enough. Was reading there about Cody, reckons he'll be out of the country for it. Can't imagine it being his scene anyway.
