Antrim 0-14 v Kildare 0-9 at half-time. Clare and Laois also losing at half-time. If Kildare, Clare and Laois all lose, Clare will get the second promotion spot on the head-to-head rule - don't think many would have predicted that outcome.

Tyrone, Kerry, Armagh and Mayo all to win.

Did Kildare throw the game against Offaly last week? Would expect them to hammer Offaly in final next week.

I wouldn't be doing any cartwheels on making the league final. Galway and Donegal had their eyes on championship football in two weeks time. Galway, Donegal, Dublin and Armagh the current favourites for the All-Ireland. Can't be much argument about that.

Donegal should have tried to get to league final instead of resting players. They are going to beat Derry anyway. They don't often get the chance to lift silverware in Croke park.

I'll say it again….the team that finishes top should be league champions. Having a league final is a farce.

Feel sorry for Clare. They beat both Offaly and Kildare and all three finished on 10 points. Yet it's those two who are promoted. Scoring difference is a farce in a competition that has a dud like Leitrim in it!

Home advantage can be a big advantage. Clare had both Kildare and Offaly at home.

I'd feel sorrier for Down. They had a better scoring difference than Louth but were relegated ultimately because they lost away in Drogheda by a point.

Kildare certainly didn't throw the game - though did look a bit heavy legged. Offaly were very well set up and showed Kildare a few new tricks within the new rules. They fully deserved their win on the day.

With no Sam Maguire place there for winning Division 3 this year - I can't see either side taking it as more than a useful hit out before the Leinster championship.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Mickey Harte will be going all out for silverware. He always does. Kildare once again flattered to deceive when they met the other two big guns in division three. I was beginning to believe that they had turned a corner but their too-often soft side resurfaced before the league was over. That in itself is a reason for Kildare to go out hammer and tongs to try to finally win something and allay the everlasting feelings of doubt that haunt their supporters, and prove that they can at least take care of Offaly, a county that has been down in the doldrums for almost 30 years now; a once proud footballing county.

If Kildare don't win this league final, they will have nothing to show once again for another year!

Head-to-Head v SD - I'm agnostic as to which should rank higher - but inconsistent application, based on a two- or three-way tie, is brain dead.

Tough on Tyrone, gave us a good scalping, they have 7 points on the board, and they get relegated.
Rough justice!

Agree, it would make for a better league as well. No pulling up trying to avoid a final if teams are out the week after finals. Players need a break also as they try to get over minor injuries.
