Replying To zinny:  "Hurling at intercounty level started adopting football tactics some time go, Hurling now is unrecognizable from I would say even less then 20 years ago. Don't think for a second if managers could get away it they wouldn't be doing the 15 behind the ball that football does, its the fact that it doesn't work because of the distance a score can be taken form is the reason it doesn't happen not because Hurling managers are purists. The man responsible for the Shels style of play brought it in a few years back and he is a Rathnure man - hardly a football stronghold. I think for any team to be successful in both codes the managers style has to match up - one day you cannot be told to go out and play we free abandon and as individuals and the next in a structured environment. Players getting the same message despite from both codes and realising they are part of the cog is what I would say is the critical aspect."
Wasn't a bad footballer that Rathnure man

Nicky Rackard was from Rathnure. He won a Leinster Football medal in 1945.

Well, it is able to prove that the Rackards played for Rathnure anyway, despite what might be suggested here!

Will Oulart get a replay against the Rapps? After the Rapps player got two yellow cards but wasn't sent to the line.....

I don't think anyone from Wexford doesn't already know that, with or without FB, Mr Young ;-)

Floyd Murphy from the Rapps got two yellow cards but wasn't sent off. Rapps knew and substituted him straight after. He scored a point before been replaced and his replacement also scored a point.....

Yeah but its not their fault - the player has to be ordered off by the referee - he go a yellow - its not up to him to tell the ref he was already on a yellow - the only way it could be an issue if he gave the ref an incorrect name the second time.
People newspaper has it it was in the 43 and 51st min. Intercounty ref as well.

Poor mistake by a ref but has 2 linesmen 4 umpires and 3rd official plus wexford gaa videoing someone surely noticed it and or the opposition players/management etc would know especially if only 8 min between them . And could ve brought it to reefs attention yocat least check . Unless there was raft of yellows on the day .
But have to say refs are in an awkward position let it flow or blow up . The amount of fouling jn hurling is ridiculous at moment it's the way it's being coached. The dark arts as its called.
How much do u let go some refs over blow some let it go too much . In the modern game it's almost impossible not to make many mistakes .
Really is extremely hard to get that balance right .
Or gave eyes that can see round players little tug jersey , third man tackles, pull on the arm hand the list is endless really . Then there's the blatant pull downs obvious but not punished harshly.enough I'm my humble opinion

Go watch how games are reffed in Kk. Some shocking senior refs in Wex.

Don't disagree there are very poor refs .
just saying the inconsistency among what some see as frees and some don't.
Just because a ref don't blow it does nt mean it's not a free . Same as just cause he blows it up does nt mean he could nt have let it develop. .
It's the inconsistency that's the problem players are coached to play as close to the edge as possible .
But every refs edge is different unfortunately

Martin Byrne won a Junior Leinster football medal with Wexford alongside Damien fitzhenry and Darragh Ryan. Would have played a lot of football for the counsel too. Might have been influence on his managerial style

A few Cork lads I know placed their demise (until this year) firmly with club referees. Seemingly everything is a free so they weren't able for county then

Intermediate reffing wasn't top of the range at all the games either.

Was in belfield on Saturday for intermediate games and reffing wasn't bad , no linesmen appointment wasn't ideal but that's not Refs fault
