That narrative has persisted for years. And it's really irritating. It's really irritating because half those counties are no better than we are. And in fact have won nothing since the last time we won something. So have been even less successful than us when it boils down to it. And have a lot more "should'ves" given the advantages they have over us in playing numbers, history/culture and self inflated notion of their own importance.
Cork should've won a Munster since we won our last Championship title. Should've won an AI too really given their playing numbers and underage success. But they've won nothing. They didn't even get a draw on Sunday.
Clare should've won a Munster, and maybe an AI too. Waterford should've won a Munster. Galway should've won a Leinster. Tipp haven't won anything in Senior championship since the year we last did either. Its all "should'ves" with all of the above."
I get that it is "irritating". But the only way to shake it off is to beat them, and beat them consistently.
Its the same for Dublin by the way. The perception is that Parnell Park is a bear pit and Dublin can't win anywhere else. And there is probably something in it.
I get your "should'ves" above, but of those, Galway, Tipp, Cork and Clare have all won All-Irelands this century. Wexford haven't. And have had good underage teams but none of them won anything and only a few made an All-Ireland final at u20 level. No All-Ireland final at minor since 1980's?
I see it as easy to see why pundits don't rate Wexford, rather than being angered by it its up to the county to change the record for them.

Agree 100% up to us to change other counties perceptions of us

Replying To Afinestick:  "I think its the fact for a county who loves our hurling we have had very little success compared to other counties overall. We have only won one senior all ireland since 1968. In the same time period we have not won any minor All Ireland and only one under 20/21 title. Until we start competing and winning for these titles I don't blame other counties for having their current perception of us as a county."
Waterford haven't won one since the 60s. Neither have Dublin. Yet there's not the same narrative there. In 2016 there wasn't that perception about Galway or Limerick and they hadn't won one in ages either.

Agree 100% it's up to us to change it. But even when we do beat a top county its "they had a weakened team out" or "its not championship", yet at the same time we have won championship silverware more recently than over half the other top counties. If we do win another Leinster or make an AISF through the QFs there will be reasons put forward by these people that won't include how well we played or how good our players are.

I see MOH, ROC and Mac were at the school kids training session thing, hopefully they're on the right track too.

Personally perception and opinion doesn't bother me as in fairness our championship record over the last 4 years isn't good and we've alot to prove, repeating myself I know but what annoyed me over the last few weeks was the outlook from certain outlets that a near full strength Wexford took on an under strength Kilkenny and Galway when in reality everyone fielded understrength teams. I wouldn't care about a 1 off but it's happened numerous times the last few weeks.

Brilliant news on Mogie, hopefully Brendan was over egging the concerns around ROC, the last quote made me laugh, not a hope that's a direct quote.

MOH is only back 2 weeks from an extended break in Australia so probably more of a case of building up fitness than anything else.

Brilliant news on Liam Og returning. I read the article sounds like we could have Hanlon and Jippo back for the Clare game. It sounds like he is concerned with Rory O Connors achilles tendon issue. We really need him right come mid April!

Odd no reference to Oisin Foley, he name checked most of the others we were thinking were in the wings.

Starting to feel hopeful about our championship if we can keep everyone fit . We should have a lot of options to come off the bench this year. Below could be our options likely to feature in the championship if we have everyone available.
Goalkeepers: Fanning, Duggan, Lawlor
Backs: Matt O Hanlon, Jippo, Niall Murphy, Conor Foley, Eoin Ryan, Charlie McGuckin, Damien Reck, Cian Molloy, Shane Reck, Simon Donohoe, Conor Devitt, Joe O Connor
Midfield: Conor Hearne, Dee O Keeffe, Corey Byrne Dunbar ,Darragh Carley ( Kevin Foley, Cathal Dunbar both forward options also)
Forwards: Jack O Connor, Lee Chin, James Byrne, Seamus Casey, Richie Lawlor, Tucker Kinsella, Cian Byrne, Rory O Connor, Conor McDonald, Oisin Foley, Liam Og
That's 32 Players listed. Dont think ive missed anyone but I think we've built a decent squad and if the injuries can clear up in the next 9/10 weeks we can make a right go of the Leinster championship! Should be huge competition for starting 15 and matchday 26 over coming weeks.

Open to correction but I make it a 39 man panel, those names plus Michael Dundon, Mike Kelly, Paidi Casey, Jack Doran, Mark Byrne, Conor Mahoney and Cathal Doyle, not sure if any of the u20s are in the panel.

He's definitely there anyway. He's been with the team at every match.

Fantastic news about mogie though. So great to have him for another championship.
