Replying To Saynothing:  "Blame ticket master and the GAA but I got 3 tickets yesterday morning, Dublin are playing at home that's why I only mentioned Dublin and yes TC final should be the main event and Dublin v Monaghan as curtain raiser."
I still reckon a lot of tickets will be put on sale before next weekend.
Couldnt have sold out that quickly.

GAA need to learn from this for next year.

Replying To Fionn:  "Yep I think so - €50 for a TC Final is a bit steep tbh.

Most of the TC fans will only watch a bit of the Monaghan v Dublin game but that is it.
Majority will want to travel home to either celebrate or just get out of there.
I know friends of mine involved in the TC are saying it is far too steep to be bringing a family to it..

But as you say, tweaks next year will hopefully solve this."
€210 for 5 of us (1 juvenile) was actually willing to pay full price for younger one so she could see (hopefully) donal keoghan lift a trophy so logged on to TM early to get lower hogan tickets 10am was in Q for over 2k finally started to drop at 10.17 , eventually on at 10.22. All lower hogan and lower cusack gone upper cusack or davin all
That was left , so I said f it I'm not paying another 40 just for the craic. Got 5 lower davin. Funny thing is she buys me and the 2 girls season tickets every year for Xmas . It didn't make one bit of difference even though it has been scanned at 7 league games 1 Leinster game and 5 tc games. So next year I'll tell her to get me AirPods. They can stick it where sun don't shine.

Replying To Saynothing: "The very least they could've done was put the TC final on 2nd and have Dublin match as curtain raiser. GAA were looking the counties to buy into this TC so stage the final as main event ."

This is the only way to do it unless they are going to do it as a stand alone fixture.

At least this way the stadium will be filling up during the game instead of emptying out before it even starts.

Lots of tickets available still for Derry V Kerry... it's completely daft what the GAA did in having the match on Saturday. They couid have easily changed the fixture date but chose not to.

Totally agree. A nonsensical decision of which this year there appear to be many. If there is 40k at the Derry vs Kerry game I would be suprised. It would have been far better to have it on the Talteann Cup day. Not to mention a good few Derry fans would have been happy to go in and cheer Down on. Who makes these decisions?

Some tickets available on ticketmaster this morning I noticed. Crazy decision by the GAA. and very unfair on the Tailteann Cup as a competition, very little if any serious promotion of the final.

There's none and not much for the Sam Semis either.
They really need a PRO or Marketing officer in HQ.

its hard to know if tweaks next year will make a difference they need people organising this stuff who have their finger on the pulse, like Down and Meath have combined population of over half a million people 500,000 thats without unionist population. There are very few counties could pull 40,000 on their own to a TC final. some counties like kidare and Cork are not as strong at following their counties when there at a low ebb. Meath has a huge bandwagon of fans who will land into dublin on saturday but might not even realise what the structure of the competition is all about they just know its a final and presume its the same standing as leinster final, you can see this with ladies final last year Meath brought 37-40,000 on their own that day, which is crazy, but very easy to see on TV afterwards whem it was just all meath left in stadium. its a lot to do with proximity, a lot of meath people anywhere south of Navan can decide at 1pm saturday to buy a ticket and head in to croker. they would be there quicker than southside dubs. i think meath will have a bigger crowd there than monaghon on saturday

Well done Meath, was pretty easy in the end. Down bottled it.

Great win for Meath… won the game playing football the way it should be played… attacking football.. even at the end with the game tight they never took a backward step which was great to see….I for one didn't give them much of a chance in this game but I am more than glad to be proven wrong..

I remember joking at the start of the year that Meath will win Tailteann 2025 implying that they would get relegated in 2024. They won it sooner than expected.

Meath worthy winners. Down had no answer for their big men. We need a keeper to move forward or we'll go nowhere. Near impossible to win any game when you can't get your hands on any kick outs.

Congratulations to Meath: quite fitting that the Tailteann Cup can winter well at Pairc Tailteann. Oh where are those doubters now who wanted O'Rourke hung, drawn, and quartered after the league? Great man Colm.
