What? 1 Dub complaining and it has caught your attention. Wow!! Were there complaints from thousands of others? What was his/her specific complaint? Probably complaining because some manager was complaining about Dublin's advantages in Croke Park when his team took them to the wire a few weeks ago only to have his ar@e handed to him today in the middle of the country with a crowd split 50/50. Perhaps the game would have been closer in HQ.

Replying To festinog:  "Enjoyable game in PUC, Cork did well and may think the penalty a bit harsh. Replay didn't show the Kerry lad totally unmarked on front of the goal so a simple pass and a goal was definitely on, and in fairness timing a cynical foul so it's just outside the box shouldn't be rewarded. I thought it was a fair call.

And now in Kilkenny it looks like today was the day a lot of Dub fans realized the Luas doesn't serve Kilkenny. Very poor crowd from both counties, it has to be said. Enjoyable contest though."
The exact same situation in PUC happened in the Dublin game and the Kildare lad only got a yellow and a free awarded.
I have no problem with Powter getting the Black. It was deserved and maybe any doubt should go against the cynical foul, however you will probably not see the same interpretation if it happens again at other matches this year. I think it was the wrong decision personally. However if that was given week in week out, I'd understand it. Whenever you give the ref a decision to make, there's always a chance it will go against you.
I felt Kerry got a few handy ones today and even Clifford not getting a black at the end was typical. That being said, Cork only have themselves to blame and not the ref. The pen came from a turnover and they kicked some awful wides. If they just had a little more composure and quality in the final third, I think Kerry would be in a pretty worrying predicament now.
Kerry will get better, but I feel that was Cork at their best. We should get another two games, so will put all the energy into trying to get a good performance in that knockout game.
Kerry look well off their best. They need more from Paudie Clifford, Geaney and a few others if they are going to be at the sharp end. However, I'd never back against them.

I have to agree with pretty much all of that. Cork left that one behind today and are on the way back. Powter is still a serious performer all over the pitch and good as Hurley is, he really should have won it for Cork today.

Rian O'Neill likely to miss Galway game now unless the red is over turned. Still all to play for for topping group... should Armagh beat Galway and Tyrone beat Westmeath will the standings be decided by score difference? That Armagh Galway game is going to be juicey! Tyrone may live to regret not getting more out of their extra man advantage.

Ps why oh why was this game not in Kildare? It's a league format. Dublin fans have no divine right to tickets and how sweet it would be to see Dublin play an actual game away in the opponents ground once and awhile.

Looks like Like are fans voted with their feet."
Surely you're not trying to argue that Kildare nominated Nowlan Park to suit the Dubs? After what Glenn Ryan said a few weeks back?

Correct, possibility of 3 teams on 4 points and scoring diff decides top in that instance. Galway would still be in a strong position as +12 ahead of the others unless Tyrone had a good win. 3 weeks playing on the trot if you don't top group is very challenging, especially the last week (QF) against a group winner. Finishing 3rd especially tough, away against a 2nd place team in prelim-QF e.g trip to killarney

I fear that the Roscommon/Sligo and Roscommon/Kildare and Dublin/Sligo matches are going to be attempts to run up large winning margins to capture the top seeded place.

Much different task for Rossies than last week so be interesting to see how they adapt to the new mode. Sligo and Kildare surely only be playing to keep the score down at this stage.

Because Kildare closed Newbridge for redevelopment work. Just a little over 8,000 at that match yesterday in Nowlan Park and don't Dublin have 10,000 season ticket holders?

Time will tell but in hindsight we may find that the winners of the preliminary QFs may be better primed for the real QFs than the group winners but of course they have to win that prelim game first???

In 2020 there were 3,500 season ticket holders in Dublin. I haven't a clue where you got the 10,000 figure from

Dublin don't have 10K season tickets. If they dd then that match wouldn't have been fixed where it was.

Latest is that Kildare had to pick Nowlan Park because of the number of Dublin season tickets and that Kildare CB were promised a whack of the gate receipts...

The connection between that and them being the worst team in the group stages is a mystery to all but themselves.

8,216 in Nowlan Pk. I thought the Dubs loved travelling and going on the road? Awful attendance.
