David Clarke did hold Lee Chin to just one point from play in last year's club championship. As you say bench is very strong. Cork have a few injuries they named their team last night. Hopefully we will see a good game of hurling with both sides players playing for spots on the team come championship. Definitely need to see more fight and intensity from our lads as Corks new breed under Ryan seem to be showing plenty of it so far this year. Hopefully we also see a driven Mac covering every blade of grass up front too. He needs to get himself on more ball to remind everyone what a lethal finisher he can be.

So one change on the team that faced Clare, with Dee O'Keeffe on and Jack off. Hoping he'll start a different 15 than he's named or my trip to Cork is not going to be pretty

That's a big change by itself. It will be nearly like having 2 extra players running around the pitch. Also Carty is starting instead of Foley, who presumably will be playing for the u20s in the first game there Sunday.
At least if anyone gets injured or just plain isn't playing well enough there are far better more experienced lads on the bench than there was against Clare.
I'm really looking forward to the 2 games tbh.

I'd be surprised if there isn't at least 1 change, we had 1 change to be team picked the last 2 days and if Flood is a forward option this year then we've actually only 5 backs picked, noticeable none of the u20s in the 26, i reckon that 26 plus Ryan, Devitt, Oisin Foley, Richie Lawlor add in Cian Byrne of Rosslare as the 3rd goalie plus the u20 players and that's pretty much the current panel.

I reckon the u20s will be playing at 1.45

Surprising team selection really.
Surely Matt, Lee, and Rory should be on from the start. They need gametime. I know they will be introduced at some stage but maybe Cork will have built up a sizable lead before Egan brings them on.
Memories of the Clare game come to mind.
I thought Mikey Dwyer would have been worth a first 15 spot. What has he done wrong to be on the bench again?
David Clark at number 3 is baffling too. Big position for the lad to play. His lack of experience could prove costly.
I agree with other posters about Mcdonald. Every game he just doesn't perform. Quality backs can read him like a book and usually mark him out of the game. His lack of speed is a factor. He may get away with it against weaker opponents but not against the top teams.
I expect Dee to be back to near his best. He will surely be out to prove himself worthy of selection.
Cork will be hard to beat on their own patch but surely we can't be as bad as the last day.
Verdict- Cork to win by 8 points.

Wouldn't be jumping to conclusions about Clarke playing full back, Damien Reck wore 3 against Westmeath and I never expected him to play there and he played centre back in that game, also wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1 change to the team selected.

Cody picked the likes of JJ Farrell and Taggy Fogarty regularly in their time, I'm sure there were far more talented players available. The likes of Richie Hogan and even TJ Reid had to wait a good while to become regulars until their workrate and ability to win their own ball was up to scratch.

And John Kiely in many ways is using Cody's template of picking big strong skilful men who can win their own ball in the air or on the deck and who will work like absolute dogs until they have nothing more to give.

It's a winning formula.

Its easy to pick a winning formula when you have the strength in depth of Limerick or Kilkenny back in their hay day. Look, TJ couldn't make the Kilkenny team until Larkin, Eddie Brennan, etc retired. Its a luxury the like of Wexford and Dublin do not have. Neither have the quality on the bench to not weaken the side.
McDonald is a curious one or me, its a full backs game all day long to stand and wrestle. Yet you don't want him moving too far away from goal because that is his greatest asset. I still think the ball going in to him is too slow and ponderous, any full back line could see it a mile away. He need to get better at making the yard or two and the midfield need to get better ball in to him. Wexford need to get more out of this potentially great player.

Here now. Just missed the Cork minors. Not many from Wexford here yet. I'll do my best for you as regards a write up!
