Well done Kerry , weren't great but kept their heads when it mattered most.
Galway had a chance here but experience and belief just wasn't there in the 2nd half

How in the name of god would you expect to win an All Ireland with a goalkeeper like that ??
I wouldn't pick him for a junior B club team!

Congrats Kerry, did nothing wrong and got the result. There'll be talk of Kerry's wides, but other than a few howlers, most of those attempts came from crazy angles, perhaps a result of nerves, but also Galway's marking. Lots to improve on from a Galway perspective, but the lads gave it their all. Next year should be a peach!

Gaillimh Abú!

The commentators really going overboard with their praise of Clifford. Fantastic player but jeez if he scored a 13 yard free they'd talk about it as if he saved the planet.

We didn't lose because of him, which was a genuine concern, but he's very clearly struggling at this level. I'm not sure what they were thinking with where Comer was playing for most of the game; three dimensional chess being played, when keeping it simple with a game of Checkers might have yielded more scores.

But again, congrats Kerry, no complaints from this Tribesman, ye beat us fair and square.

You wouldn't be asked to pick a Junior B team so don't worry about it.

Congrats Kerry. Better team just about but that's enough on the big day. Galway will have regrets, they were right there in the dying minutes but Kerry drove for home. Special mention to David Clifford who was awesome and played head and shoulders above other Kerry forwards when he was needed most. Born for this type of occasion. Also Cillian McDaid and Shane Walsh who were absolutely outstanding.

Replying To festinog:  "McDaid concussed following a tackle and McStay chortles and passes it off as Kerry doggedness. In this day and age, that's a pretty appalling point of view from a match commentator.

Critique of the McStay BTW, not Kerry."
Doubt he www concussed. No other player got on the ball as much as him after that incident. What a player

Super all-Ireland - a titanic battle. Both teams had some moments of brilliance. Spillanes a big difference when they came on.

Hard to disagree there. He's an accident [or several of them] waiting to happen.

Congratulations to Kerry, ye got it back. Galway made a good attempt but that's as good as they get I fear.

Look forward to taking it back off you in next year's final, enjoy the winter lads :D

Lots of commentators last year saying Tyrone won a poor championship, different winners this year but really more of the same "lack of quality"

Well done Kerry. Galway gave it a good shot. Shane Walsh is a genius and what a great footballer Cillian McDaid is! Their goalie was very poor though. Kick outs and passes to his defenders going astray, fouling forwards etc.

Replying To bdbuddah:  "Great fielding again from Clifford again but I really don't like the attacking mark rule in football, it feels wrong to get a free shot at goal without a foul even happening."
For what it's worth half the actual frees are given without a foul even happening.

Commiserations Galway, maybe slightly too defensive and Kerry had the better bench. So close, that team isn't far away. Shane Walsh was superb.

Referee was excellent, best in the country by far
