Galway V Kerry All Ireland Final 2022

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

How will it go. First 10 minutes are crucial for Galway in particular. If they fall behind they could be in trouble. If they score early well it is game on. Galway will need one or two goals to win though. And will need to keep 15 on the pitch. If Kerry get a goal well it will not be good for us. I am glad to see a Tyrone ref. Not a Munster one.

Sean Cavanagh bang on the money. Kerry and Galway getting fulsome praise from Spillane and the Southern media for their workrate and playing with a tight, pressing, defensive system.......just like Armagh and Tyrone 20 years ago. The hypocrisy and double standards are quite nauseating.

Cheers, thought there might be some way to change it. Unfortunately don't have great Irish.

Essential they keep it tight in the opening half. Hopefully no stupid sendings off. They tend to have good discipline. Gavin White starts.

Cavanaghs contributions today have consisted almost entirely of snide remarks. Terrible addition to the Sunday game.
He made a dig at Dublin over a dodgy refereeing decision in the 95 final. Notice how he didn't mention the dodgy refereeing decision in 03 which got Marsden sent off after Phillip Jordan faked an injury.
The double standards are quite nauseating.

Kerry should win this, they have better players. Over recent years they have often lost big games as favourites so still questions about their temperament. If they win you get the impression it will give them the confidence to win a few more.

I think umpires at Davin end need Specsavers how they could call for hawkeye.

Surreal that mark, unheard off taking a placed ball inside 21 weird rule. Very open game.

Great fielding again from Clifford again but I really don't like the attacking mark rule in football, it feels wrong to get a free shot at goal without a foul even happening.

Pretty poor game

Intriguing game so far. Galway have a team of footballers who are all comfortable on the ball. Both teams could get another day out

OK Ulsterman, we get it. I'm not sure why you have it in for Cork media though, you've yet to explain that one.

Fairly even at break. Kerry lot of wides, not good shooting from them. Looking to me like a goal might win this. Galway keeper not doing well, too many dodgy kickouts. Where is Damo Comer. Galway need the long ball into him to get the goal.
Slight advantage Galway at the moment. But Kerry look dangerous and first goal will probably win this match.

It was hardly going to be a Munster ref but with the way the GAA do things you'd never know

Agree with you there. Cagey affair, and not one for the neutral I'd say. A goal will open this game up.

10 to go , 2 points down
Galway have lost the intensity in the 2nd half and
they are hogging onto the ball too much , then losing it cheaply..
Comer is very quite and needs to get into this match pretty quick or this game could slip by them if Kerry tag on a few more scores ..

McDaid concussed following a tackle and McStay chortles and passes it off as Kerry doggedness. In this day and age, that's a pretty appalling point of view from a match commentator.

Critique of the McStay BTW, not Kerry.

Looks like Kerrys now, ref is playing his own rules.

Think the shooting for Galway is going astray now, pity was very tight.
