Replying To ExiledInWex:  "Well it it a solution but I don't get why the county board couldn't just have somebody there selling tickets, so I go up and give them a tenner I get my ticket in return. Then the money has to be accounted for.
Failing that, why not have Centra and Supervalu selling them?"
Actually asked the question once myself about Centra/SuperValu. Apparently the "sell in shops" system only works with the Ticketmaster system that the GAA centrally uses. The County Board uses a different system called Universe, which is not linked to shops.

Noticed this year that Leinster Council uses Universe too, which meant you couldn't buy tickets for an inter-county minor or U20 match in shops either.

Presume it's something to do with maybe the Ticketmaster system taking a far bigger commission, particularly for matches where there'd be only a small volume of ticket sales compared to what would be sold for senior inter-county.

Serious foundations and steel needed for a hurling wall.

Any relation of Ned from the 1970's. He was a Harriers man, if my memory serves me correctly.

Fair play to ye in Wexford…passionate about the games. No sooner the inter-county ends, than ye're full whack into discussing/dissecting/analyzing the club scene.

I admire and compliment Wexford folk for your great zest for the games. Long may it continue.

And btw, the wet day and slow ball suiting Wexford comments, back in the early spring, were only a rouse…meant in jest…to get a lift outta ye!

Not sure. There's loads of Buggys in Kilkenny! Alot of their common surnames are common here too. Suppose they are the neighbours!!

Great to see clubs improving their facilities! Was down in Kilmore last week they have a fantastic set up. They've bought the land for a 3rd pitch and are going for a half size outdoor astro to go with their indoor astro area.

Good win for the Alley. Fethard too. Not a great weekend for the underdogs in Senior or Intermediate.

Theyve always had issues there in regards to the fact they dont actually own the lands at the back despite making numerous attempts to buy it over the years i believe.

So I got only three of my six predictions correct in the senior (Shels, Naomh Eanna and Ferns) but Taghmon beating Blackwater was the only result I didn't foresee in the Intermediate. Not too bad I suppose-it's a hard game to get right.

Was at the Gorey-Cloughbawn game last night. Gorey looked average enough in the first twenty minutes but were excellent thereafter powered by two typical top-drawer Mac goals. In fairness, Cloughbawn were well up for it, tackling, harrying and blocking like demons and pretty much taking every scoring chance they created early on.

But Gorey were much better after a tactical tweak. Mac was moved from the wing inside to his most familiar spot and when he did what he does, it was game over. I was surprised by Cloughbawn isolating Mac inside (Gorey made space with a two-man full-forward line)- they could have dropped a man back to sweep or had Flood or Colm Kehoe follow Mac in there.

Some of Gorey's point taking was sublime when they were going well. Bob Whitty was outstanding for Cloughbawn, with Flood showing flashes and Paddy Whitty hitting three excellent points too. I thought Jack Doran was very good for Gorey in midfield (along with the ultra consistent Aodhan Doyle), Jack Cullen was a totemic centre-back, McGuckin his typically industrious self, while Conroy revelled in corner back.
