I will agree when a team is successful there are those that want to pull them down straight away or soon after. Limerick now, Dublin footballers and Kilkenny. One poster on another thread here with Ballygunner. Never mentioned one word about the game but launched a selective attack on Barry Coughlan that was lies. I never took notice of the "Kilkenny play on edge". What does that mean ? They are breaking the rules or not and that is why we have refs good or bad. The only edge they played on was being superior to everyone else at the time. Played hard but never complained about getting it hard. Tommy Walsh pushing the helmet over the eyes of an opponent. He may have done it once accidentally or on purpose but if he continued to do that again top class inter county players he would be having his meals through a straw.
All in all many good people on here to chat with and a few not so good.

Well deserved, he's racked up some minutes between club and county in the last few years.

That's fine. He should be fit and available for Kilkenny's next match against Laois on the 27th February.

True! A lot of uninformed posters on here, who have no knowledge of history of game. Jumping on bandwagon of latest winners, seems to be the mantra! What would you expect from an online forum? Good luck to the Decies.. as well as every other team. As Ring said "competition is the lifeblood of the game!

Yes, massacre if that term pleases you! What happened to being magnanimous in victory? Cork were well beaten in final by Limerick, as were Waterford in semifinal, but we also had sweet victories on the way, such as the epic semifinal against Kilkenny. I enjoy watching hurling.. win, lose or draw...

Cork have been massacred before and bounced back! 1964 and 1965 were tough years, when Tipperary massacred us in successive Munster finals. We had successful underage teams at that time, which duly transferred to All Ireland wins in 1970, and '76,77 and 78! We had a decent team last year, beat the Cats in senior hurling in an epic semi final, and won underage competitions. So, keep on crowing about your latest victory... Cork is a proud hurling county, steeped in tradition and we will be back lifting the Liam McCarthy in the near future! I hope our supporters will be magnanimous in victory, as we have been in the past!

Mikey Kiely did a Paul Flynn for UL in the Fitzgibbon to win. Our Waterford boys are making a habit if these dramatic goals.

Cork supporters are the best bare none. I love being in among them. The banter, slagging etc. and then they shake you hand win, lose or draw. Fifty years going to Thurles and they beating the s--te out of us the first thing we would do is go into a pub in the square where they were for the fun. I know they will come again and dominate and the only chance we have is to get one in before that happens.

Not forgetting our win in 1966, our "double " win of 1990, as well as our contributions to Irish rugby ,soccer and athletics in general. Will take more than a few online posters to bring Cork down!

Yeah. I loved Thurles. Played there and loved the spacious wide field. Great atmosphere around the square..,,2004 Munster final against Decies was one of the best ever

I agree Rockies, the crowing and bragging from some on this forum is hard to take. We all know that Cork has produced wonderful hurlers, footballers, oarsmen, athletes etc etc. Empty vessels make most sound!

Well it's fair to say you'll have plenty of practice waiting to be magnanimous.
On a more serious note, you had an exceptional minor team last year. It will be interesting to see how that translates in time to senior level.

You can thank Limerick for removing Tipperary from your way in 1966!

Great lads alright, even better now when they're losing. It'd be nice to see Cork come again, though… Say, in about 20 years time!

But I'd like to see their footballers win one well before then, in the next 3-4 years actually. Now, I can't be accused of being anti-Cork.

Ah give the man a break hes not a machine. Better for Kilkenny he keeps himself right for the big games. I'm sure Cody wont have him wasting his energy in a League game against Laois even if hes back for then.

I bet you Cody plays him in your last League game and the Round Robin games against Dublin, Galway and ourselves. And no other games unless you make the AI series. Same as the last few years.

We had a nice win over Limerick in Munster semifinal as I remember in Killarney 2-6 to 1-7. Very tense game but we prevailed! Richie Bennie had repeatedly reminded me of the good turn Limerick did us by beating Tipp

Personally I would not care if themselves Kilkenny and Tipp did not win an All-Ireland for another 50 years. It is just the respect I have for them as great players, great teams and supporters.
