You have to admire Corduff's resilience, to come back once again. Great to see a Monaghan club in a provinical final everytomdick&harry (Monaghan) - Posts: 19 - 28/11/2022 12:46:54 2448948 Link 0 |
Ah well that just proves how informed you are on Monaghan football. Your a lad who "doesn't know what he doesn't know".

Well done Corduff. Great achievement, winning the double (second time in 100 yrs) and into a Ulster final. Well done Banty, players and management team, you are flying the flag for Monaghan club football. some achievement for a small club. Also RIP Sean mcCague - great manager, and unlucky to come against a great Kerry team. patmouse (Monaghan) - Posts: 122 - 28/11/2022 16:57:34 2448996 Link 0 |

Why in the name of God would you play it in Inniskeen. Clones in day time or Blaney at night are the best options.

Atmosphere and better parking management. Would be better watching the game on tele than in Blayney. You're a mile from the pitch in that stand.

Inniskeen is a much better venue than 'blayney for parking and atmosphere. They have a marginally better siopa and better lights for night time games. Better scoreboard and PA as well. The only downside is that the roads are narrow and can jam up quickly for busy matches. TearsIn85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 208 - 30/11/2022 12:38:13 2449141 Link 1 |
Possibly be a massive health and safety hazard on the roads with a big game, full house under lights in Iniskeen.

Blayney is a kip to get parked at - but at least its relatively central in the, and is adjacent to good roads in all directions. Mickod88 (Monaghan) - Posts: 49 - 30/11/2022 15:43:04 2449169 Link 1 |
I suppose it makes sense to take Armagh away from Clones as they would be traditionally very comfortable there. We have 3 other home games, I assume 2 will be in Clones and 1 in Inniskeen. FootblockREF (Monaghan) - Posts: 569 - 01/12/2022 07:35:12 2449203 Link 0 |
I must say that I really like Inniskeen for a match.. While the roads are narrow.. there is a lot of them which means a fast exit once you get outside the ground. The Wheelchair access is the best I've seen at any ground bar none. The one thing that they do better than Clones, Scotstown and Blayney is that they have lots of volunteers so everything runs really well. Lots of people in the car park, lots in the shops, lots around the ground helping out.. The Inniskeen people should be really proud of how they run a match.

McKenna cup and league fixtures have been released now and there have been some pictures of the panel back at training too. PolicemanFox (Monaghan) - Posts: 191 - 14/12/2022 11:13:05 2450382 Link 0 |

Interesting thanks. I'd seen Conor McManus at the launch of the McKenna cup now that I think about it. I'm sure Vinny Corey will manage his game time well, PolicemanFox (Monaghan) - Posts: 191 - 14/12/2022 15:56:45 2450417 Link 0 |
Hearing Vinny is having problem getting players out. Andrew woods has stated he won't play for him along with a Ryan McAnespie & Niall Kearns opting to go travelling instead. Blueblood4life (Monaghan) - Posts: 200 - 14/12/2022 20:50:36 2450443 Link 0 |
Not going to be easy for Vinny, trying to repeat the wonderful achievement of winning McKenna Cup last year under Banty. Like Eamon McEneaney in 2011, he will find it hard to live up to the "great one's" success.

Agreed, its going to be difficult, hearing that all the older crew are committing again. Will be good to see if Vinny is loyal to these older men or will favour taking risks with younger lads. monaghanmad (Monaghan) - Posts: 409 - 15/12/2022 12:49:25 2450482 Link 1 |
