I'm sure loads and loads of Cavan folk celebrated their All Ireland successes but unfortunately for Monaghan it never happened and probably never will

Feels like a bit of an underwhelming appointment but on the positive side it's a 100 times better than Banty and co….i don't envy Brannigan's job given the current standard of club football I've witnessed across all 3 divisions…we're obviously entering a period of transition so we all need to rest up over the winter and really row in behind our county team next year… bring on 2025…. mick2007 (Monaghan) - Posts: 554 - 21/09/2024 08:21:52 2571093 Link 0 |
Looks a good management outfit. Best of luck to the Farney from the Wee county. Shearer (Louth) - Posts: 894 - 21/09/2024 10:23:54 2571111 Link 0 |

I liked Moran a great fella by all accounts but was glad when he didn't renew his contract. Got Leitrim to division three. Achieved his goal and no Leitrim person can deny that. Tactically I don't think he was up to it and even with Graham last year we were very naive and slow to react defensively. And without Keith Beirne had no attacking shape. But he keep the squad together brought a lot of young players through and seems willing to learn. I'd say he would be a great number two with a tactically astute manager and wish him the very best with Monaghan. Delighted the Banty and Gallagher rumours not true. Fair play to Monaghan county board.

Of course they have loads of teams bundled with success. There's 4 villages playing for the one club.

Two fairly poor finals today in latton with the results well know before the end. Hurling in the county probably not in a good place after a decent 2023. You have to commend Inniskeen given they have little crossover with football but ask questions of other clubs given the age profile of Inniskeen. Blayney very good as always, theyll be targeting a good run in intermiedate in the coming weeks. 222 (UK) - Posts: 812 - 22/09/2024 20:56:53 2571317 Link 0 |

A good crowd in Latton for the hurling finals and I think it was well organised and hosted by Latton. Fair play to them. I'd love to know the average age of the Inniskeen hurling team, some according to the program made their debuts in the 90's! I'd say some of the Blayney players weren't even born in the 90's! Fair play to Inniskeen though for battling on with the age of some of their players and after a bad start to the game itself. Blayney made no mistakes this year and killed them before halftime. Last year Inniskeen hung in and got the result, not this time, so lessons learned from Blayney. Very valid point on asking question of other clubs. Are they doing enough to encourage / facilitate youngsters who want to play the small ball? MrPBoylan (Monaghan) - Posts: 216 - 23/09/2024 09:09:03 2571370 Link 0 |
