Replying To ORIELMAN85:  "Looks like the runner-up for the Monaghan job is on his way to Derry."
Doesn't say much for him if he couldn't get over the line with us.
Any word who was on his ticket?

Any man that drove from longstone to Clare to train a team wouldn't be someone I'd be interested in..

Didn't think it would be possible for someone to get all the junior games wrong. But it sure is possible after reading this post

Replying To MrPBoylan:  "A good crowd in Latton for the hurling finals and I think it was well organised and hosted by Latton. Fair play to them.

I'd love to know the average age of the Inniskeen hurling team, some according to the program made their debuts in the 90's! I'd say some of the Blayney players weren't even born in the 90's!

Fair play to Inniskeen though for battling on with the age of some of their players and after a bad start to the game itself. Blayney made no mistakes this year and killed them before halftime. Last year Inniskeen hung in and got the result, not this time, so lessons learned from Blayney.

Very valid point on asking question of other clubs. Are they doing enough to encourage / facilitate youngsters who want to play the small ball?"
caught a bit of game online and it was very poor. The county team was relegated to the basement divisions in both league and championship this year. Wasnt it cavan or louth who disbanded the senior team to work on underage, maybe drastic but surely something needs to be done before it is to late?

Any word on any retirements/not returning to the monaghan senior team, with the management that's in place they can't afford losing any players

Didn't know games were played already...

So who won the games??

Obviously winning margin a lottery but I don't see Toome, Drumhowan, oram been beat.

Best wishes Currin man to your fellow clubman - the legendary Hugo Clerkin who turns 70 on Sunday. Terror to think he made his senior debut for Monaghan in a challenge game V Westmeath in 1972. Not sure Currin will win any medals this year but rebuilding takes time.

Been watching a few of the other Ulster gaa counties championship online… we must be the only county not to offer an actual service of watching all the club games?

I agree. But we all know that our county board are the last to come up with these ideas.

Albeit i do know that clubber will be streaming the 1/4 finals this weekend. But surely there is an opening for a MonaghanGAATV channel. Look at the likes of Tyrone, Cavan, Armagh to name a few.

Surely it would be a nice investment for Co.Board rather than paying a premium to the likes of a clubber. Select 2 or 3 championship games whether it be Junior, Inter, or senior and stream them at a cost.

Would be a bit drastic to withdraw county senior team. Unless results really plummet over next two years. Clubs need to do more, unfortunately the demands of football have killed the dual player in the county.
