Replying To countymonaghan:  "Ah lads give it a break. Theres plenty more to talk about rather than where lads started playing, when they quit and how they came to be with Blackhill. I would say every club has players that started elsewhere and moved clubs.

Lets look forward to Carrick v Kilanny this weekend in the Intermediate final. I think this will be a cracker and can not call who will emerge the winner.

Hoping the Monaghan clubs can represent themselves and their county well when they turn out in Ulster."
Not much to talk about regarding this game, as it's only a matter of showing up for Kilanny in order for them to be crowd intermediate champions or so they say! I've never met a more arrogant crowd than kilanny people and they haven't much they say considering they have 3 good footballers. I wouldn't say am the only one who hopes it's carrick representing Monaghan in the Ulster intermediate rather than Kilanny.

The system in Kerry is that there the club champion. Junior ,intermediate and senior
and then a second senior all club championship
there only 8 senior clubs in Kerry .
they then run an their all county championship with regional teams consisting of the junior and intermediate club who play in the '' all county senior championship '' and they can be drawn against any of the 8 senior clubs.
The county board in kerry nominate a regional manager to look after each amalgamated team.
regional teams can not go on to represent kerry in the Munster club.

so for example in Monaghan a team called Muckno consisting of the Faugh's , Oram , Blackhill and Toome could play scotstown in an all county senior championship. managed by Declan Loughman
This competition would be straight knockout.

club with second teams , in junior would not be permitted to have players represented in the all county championship.
for obvious reason you couldn't have players from scotstown junior team playing against scotstown senior team.

Our league would need to be restructured . 4 divisions of 8 teams. with Division 3 Called Premier Junior and Div. 4 called junior. a few senior club with strong reserve teams would have to enter a side in the div 4 competition. these 16 club would all compete in the junior champion .the junior championship would be a round robin of 4 groups of 4, graded based on league position . only the top two of each group would progress to the knockout stages of the junior championship.

an 8 team league would mean more competitive games . strong representation from junior and intermediate going into the ulster club.

I'd say the vast majority of people in the county would love to see a small rural club like Kilanny beat a huge town like Carrick. Carrick will probably win, it would be incredibly embarrassing if they don't given they've about 5x the pick that Kilanny do.

What about €20 admission to intermediate final? €15 concession

That's an expensive family day out. Think I'll be sticking to Clubber.

Why does pick correspond to how good a team are?

Did currin even object to the transfer?
Youd almost feel like it seemed a deal was done between both, very little talk of it

They weren't my underdogs, 2 years ago they were 1 win away from going senior. They should've won junior double last year but they were more concerned about hitting players off the ball than they were playing football.

3 good players is a bit of an understatement but if I was to pick 3 it would be

Eddie Walsh
Dean Connolly
Killian Collins

Then you have
Ronan grimes
Kyle Connolly

Yeah only a matter of showing up for the Killanny parish team against a big town like carrick. Never heard such muck kid.

It stands to reason the more people you have to pick from the more likely you are to find 20 to 25 good players.
Obviously, there is more to it than simply numbers with Blayney, Carrick and Harps all in intermediate while clubs like Blackhill and Toome with tiny numbers regularly compete well in intermediate proofing it is not just about numbers but
it is no coincidence that Scotstown has been the dominant club side in Monghan club football and Dublin has been the dominant County side nationally in recent years.

Ronan Grimes definitely belongs in that upper tier. Was on the county panel at the start of the year I believe?

Scotstown and Dublin have an excellent culture and structure of success. They're both coming to the end of a cycle of absolute dominance but unlike others it won't take a decade to reload.

Historically clubs like Carrick, Harps, Truagh, Emyvale and lately blayney are blighted with committees that have priorities outside of winning on the field which is why they consistently under perform and truthfully, contribute very little to county teams in comparison to Latton, Ballybay, Clontibret who all have far smaller areas to pick from.

No, took the decision early on the year to finish out odd numbers this year and reverting back to 14,16 and 18 next year

I think I will. I paid the same into last weeks Clones extravaganza and got a senior county final, a minor final, a pipe band and sunshine. Will this weekend compare?
