First round of the football leagues this weekend and no details on social media and the website is down. Anyone have the details the games? I imagine many will be cancelled with the weather anyways

I see they have given Cusack Park a coat of paint and are installing bucket seats which should be a big improvement in fairness and improve the look of the place as well.

Whats the big secret about announcing a team? John you are doing the panel a major disservice and Westmeath supporters. Westmeath always keep the team secret till the last minute, why?. Need to learn about promotion and communication.Take a leaf from the Dubs book.

For once Mick I think the 15 named will start bar any injury doubts but we'll see. Should be a good crowd creating a bit of a buzz for a local derby.

Is Ger Egan part of the panel or is he injured ? Is Denis coroon retired from inter county ?. Looks like that era of players are starting to call time on inter county. McGuire really the only one getting a starting place probably due to his athleticism and position.

A lot of that good u21 team seem to be dropping off, no sign of Egan yet or corroon, I believe Tommy McDaniel, Callum McCormack and mulligan have left, no sign of j dolan either but he was part of the jersey launch

I was just going to ask that question. Where do I see the fixtures. The website seems to be down.

Is the draws done for the championship?

Have to agree . Very poor promotion of Westmeath gaa overall . Most counties give a comprehensive coverage of all match day events . Teams , changes if any , regular score updates , scorers , subs . Just look at the promotion that Offaly gaa gets at all levels through Twitter alone .

Have to agree Offaly puts us to shame. Even just the simple stuff of naming underage panels for the year, photos and names of their mentors etc. Loath to be critical of our fellow volunteers but website has been down since last week when an attempt was made to upload the fixtures or so it seems.

Compared to some other counties , it seems our PRO will have to listen to Midland radio 3 for sporadic information and updates . Very very annoying and disappointing for supporters
