Replying To Bluelake:  "Robbie Brennan going to be the meath manager. Does that open up Lar Wall to us?"
Wall would be great oppertunity for Westmeath. He has Huge experiance in Management and has been very succesfull at club level. County managers with experiance and success are a rarity

Just get on with it. This whole saga has been very disappointing. The local Championship will be over by the time this gets sorted.

Would rory Gallagher be a good or bad appointment for westmeath. Derry have turned him down. He wants to get back I to management. Would worry about Lar only doing 1 year with roscommon. Could be a good few of the mayo management available after players meeting tomorrow.

For a football side of things he would be an excellent appointment plus his relationship with Jack Cooney can only be a positive in helping him identify talent within the county. From a PR side of things it's hard to know. He didn't get the return to Derry he wanted due to the backlash he would have gotten and some high profile figures commenting which I'd imagine put then Derry co board off. In his statement today though he said he would be back in inter county management in the near future and the only vacant positions are us, Derry and Clare.

They've been playing defensively last couple of years. Derry's success under Rory Gallagher was impressive

Hard to figure out this great young team that was been talked up from Moate are in a play off for the drop all shape and no edge really like a lot of teams today . These lads have no substance not like Moate teams of years gone by . Shandonagh to win by 3 again

Not sure who talked up Moate? They were in section B which was the most difficult section B in years, they faced two very difficult opponents in their opening two matches in The Downs and Mullingar Shamrocks and when they lost both games it meant qualifying was almost impossible. By all accounts they were outplayed by Shandonagh in the last meeting and they face a tough task next Saturday. Shandonagh have momentum and Moate look vulnerable

Probably a harsh enough comment really, they have a really young team, it just shows in any club how long it takes to make an impact at adult level. If you look at the senior champions over the last number of years it's always a team filled with players in their mid twenties onwards. It would be interesting to see who had the youngest average age in recent years. Moate have quality coming through but probably lack the players from 26/27 upwards to guide these lads in big games.

I see Lar Wall is not going back to Roscommon next season so remains a viable option for Westmeath. County Board either struggling or keeping it all very quiet as no other rumours.

They won back to back minor division 1 in 2013 and 2014 , I think. Those guys would be late 20s now.

Andrew Gorman and Billy Berry only two that come to mind. Gavin Murray now playing down in Clare and playing inter county football. That minor success was the back bone of there junior success a few years ago

U and plenty of others both last year and the start of this year but anyway i am not knocking all I was trying to say is young lads these days you can't depend on them especially at senior level. As for people talking up Rory Gallagher for managers job leave it be some roll model it would be I sooner go to division 4 than let that lad in

Here's to waking up to white smoke billowing into the skies from above the Friars Mill road and this tune stuck in my head going to work.

Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna give the job to you
By now, you should've somehow realised that you've a lot of work to do to keep us in Division 2
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat, the word is on the street that the Rossies put you out
I'm sure you've heard of Fore and Ball'nagore, but you never really had a drought
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

And all the retirements we have to replace is heightening
And all the land on the Delvin Road the clubs will pay for is frightening
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves us
And after all
You're our WonderWall
