Replying To iarmhiabu:  "Here's to waking up to white smoke billowing into the skies from above the Friars Mill road and this tune stuck in my head going to work.

Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna give the job to you
By now, you should've somehow realised that you've a lot of work to do to keep us in Division 2
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

Backbeat, the word is on the street that the Rossies put you out
I'm sure you've heard of Fore and Ball'nagore, but you never really had a drought
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

And all the retirements we have to replace is heightening
And all the land on the Delvin Road the clubs will pay for is frightening
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how

Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves us
And after all
You're our WonderWall"
Don't give up the day job.....

As for people talking up Rory Gallagher for managers job leave it be some roll model it would be I sooner go to division 4 than let that lad in"
I agree, people talking up Rory Gallagher, he would be some roll model for our young lads, what do some people be thinking? Looks like Lar Wall will be the man.

Please point out where I talked up Moate? Otherwise stop spouting nonsense. If I mentioned Moate it was as a half decent team in section B who could challenge for the second spot behind The Downs, in other words they had a chance of finishing 8th in the championship round robin, I also didn't think they were relegation candidates. I never suggested they could reach a semi final, that would have been fanciful.

Gallagher would be miles better than Wall. Was never convicted of anything and a top team will take him again. He would get Westmeath further than lar wall if you were to talk only on football terms. The outside stuff is a major issue but would be a great chance to land a top manager.

I suggested Buddah Mangan weeks ago on this forum and without any inside sources I still think he's a serious contender. He ticks a lot of boxes managerial wise, former player who performed on the biggest day, lots of management experience at club and county level, remarkably he's still playing senior championship football in his mid forties, knows the Westmeath football scene inside out, great man manager, has had championship success at senior level albeit in hurling but his football knowledge is flawless, probably in his last spell as Castletown manager, highly respected by Westmeath gaels, an outside manager would be lacking in many key areas compared to Buddah.

I'd happily be bottom of division 4 for the next 20 years than have Rory Gallagher as manager. It won't be him anyways but anybody here cheerleading for Rory Gallagher would wanna take a long hard look in the mirror.

If being against domestic violence makes me a snowflake then I'll wear the badge with honour

Calling him snowflake for having an opinion is ridiculous
Many wouldn't want him whether he did stuff or not.

Fair enough if you cast that aside but having an opinion

We're all against domestic violence but the man was never charged. Remember that.

Buddah would be a great internal option I agree. Would Westmeath be any further on in a few years that is the question. he could be the first to manage Westmeath in football and hurling as i think he would be also a great fit for the hurlers after bulfin goes.
