Naomh Conaill definitely died with there boots on, poor first half and one hell of a second half. I have to admire Anthony Thomson, did it all and one of the best players on the field. The two Doherty's and McKelvey missing definitely told at times, three experienced championship players, especially Ultan with man marking Niall O'Donnell, he got that bit more room with Ultan out. Also McKelvey's calmness on the ball and usually chips in with one or two scores.
But in fairness Eunans should probably have been more ahead at half time
It's usually fine margins between Eunans and us, and sometimes you win and get that bit of luck.
I must say, it was played in a very sporting manner and at the end of the game boths teams showed great respect. I hope they go and win it now.
I must say I believe that was kilcars last chance and they blew it, but fair play to Michaels.

Good luck to all the rest of the championship

How about St. Michaels, thought they were dead and buried with that penalty but a great save from McGinley and they turn it around miraculously. Was mentioned on the commentary but I wonder would Langan be tempted back if it was feasible for the semi final which is very winnable, with no disrespect to Dungloe who were great against Glenswilly and are a very physical side.

The feeling in Dungloe is that this is just as winnable for us too.

Wouldn't doubt that, I'd say both teams are delighted to have avoided Gaoth Dobhair and Eunans especially. Hopefully they both go for it and don't sit back.

Finbarr Roarty is some player for an 18 year old.

Big upset from St.Michaels at the weekend. I am hearing that after the draw was made last night Langan got the flight booked and back home by Wednesday. Massive lift to them this weekend

A few surprising results over the weekend with Dungloe and St. Michaels earning great victories. Each will fancy their chances of making county final day now. If Michael Langan was available for St. Michaels then it might tip the scales in their favour, but that remains to be seen.

St Eunans had a great win over Noamh Conaill. It was great to see the game played in the right. It was tough, competitive stuff and Eunans just had thate xtra wee bit to eke out the win. Tony Thompson is some man. One of our greatest, and still somehow very underrated.

Gaoth Dobhair Four Masters was extremely cagey. It could have gone either way but Gaoth Dobhair just had a wee bit more composure down the straight to see them home.

Eunans v Gaoth Dobhair will be another tight affair. Hard to call it.

Frank McGlynn must have been anonymous his entire career bar 2012 then?

Not sure I understand your point? Please elaborate.

Better team won on Saturday night for sure. I have watched and rewatched the winning score and still can't understand how Eoin McGeehan got so much room to kick that point. Also credit to him for the score he scored from the corner he has no right to go for that what so ever nevermind score it.

Moving forward I think the shackles will come off Eunans now and they will steam roll the remaining teams left. I was glad to see no afters in the game like we have unfortunately seen before with these teams.

In the other games I think Kilcars golden generation and Murphys hope for a 4th have both come to an end which is sad for him(not so much kilcar )

My dream scenario would be a Dungloe vs Gweedore final and Dungloe to win it.

The one in the corner from the acute angle was Ciaran Moore. Was fairly quiet by his recent standards but stepped up with that massive score at a vital time. Eunans were flying first half, should have been further ahead, watched their management team at half time, took ages to go off, seemed to be reviewing stats on ipads. Looking at them you would think they were behind and needed a new plan. I think nowadays these management teams are over-thinking the game, sometimes the message just needs to be to keep playing the way u are.

Thought the same. Eunans were playing it around the periphery and it looked like Naomh Conaill had their familiar defensive block in place. Next thing McGeehin appeared to just ghost into space, and Eunans quickly found him. Two Glenties men belatedly reacted, and almost got to him in time, but McGeehin did very well to snap the shot away from a difficult enough angle and distance. A great score all things considered.

Was chatting to a Carn lad today and he was saying the two Newton men scored five points between them which made the Convoy score a wee bit presentable.

Mogan shackled the best playmaker in the country whilst still contributing to carries up the pitch and chance creation.

Would have been nice for another player to have done the job for him and Mogan to have contributed further up the pitch, but that's not what he was told to do. After McColgan went off, Finnerty and Mogan were rarely seen for the rest of the match, which in my book is a brilliant defensive performance from the Naomh Naille man.

Nice of them to experience playing knock out football with Convoy all the same. As with Devenney in Eunans, Farmer in Gweedore etc etc.

Any players across the various Championships stand out as potential county material?
While they wouldn't be new to the scene, an injury free Conor O'Donnell and Odhran McFadden-Ferry would be great additions (and yes I know the latter hasn't featured for Gaoth Dobhair).

Gary McFadden is one of the best man markers about and has been up with the county before, but county football maybe isn't the be all and end all for everyone.

Are there any players from the likes of Dungloe, Four Masters and St. Michaels who could make the step up?
Any rough diamonds in the intermediate/junior?

For a club with big numbers what's happening to yous. Should be winning junior championships regularly.

Young Roarty from NC looks a serious prospect as well.

I think where we're lacking is really dangerous inside forwards who unfortunately are becoming a bit of a dying breed with the way the game has gone.

Saw a number of sfc games, a few of the u20 players definitely impressed in games I took in - Callum Mc Crea, Karl Magee, Conor Reid, Conor Mc Ginty and Finbar Roarty the ones that stood out.
Colin McFadden from St Michaels, Aodhan Breathnach and Seamus Og Byrne impressed as well.
