Replying To eddieSize5Balls:  "The end of Naomh Conaills golden period?
You'd have to think so, many of their starters are well into their 30s, some in their early 30s now i.e. Eunan Doherty, O'Malley etc"
Far from it, if we get all our players back we are still a formidable team, remember we were down the two Doherty's and McKelvey, all on the fringes of the county team. Our best forward in Eoin MC G, hope his run of injuries clears up. And the best player on the field was A Thompson, still another year or two left in him.
If we get everyone back, we will give it a good go next season.
At the end of the day, there is still a gap between the big two and the rest, so we will be in with a fighting chance for the next few years, with Eunans as our main opposition.

Don't write Naomh Conaill off yet

Morrison back is interesting for Eunans. Looks fresh. Could he do a job for the county?

Can Caufield push on next year? Looks a prospect.

I see Jamie Grant is back playing for Termon.

Hopefully Ethan O Donnell stays about.

How far away is Oran Mc Fadden Ferry?

Can lads like Conor O Donnell and Caolon Mc Colgan stay fit?

We are close but need to find a physical presence or two in the side and also a score getter to help Farah. I don't think there's one in the club championship so we might need to reinvent who plays 13 and 15. Maybe with lads like Roarty and Ethan potentially playing, maybe we can give boys like Mogan and Shane O Donnell more room to go forward."
McFF should be back training around christmas, but guessing he won't be up to speed bar a minor miracle until the summer.

Thats fair, Eoghan should have been a county starter but it never was to be

What's the story on Ethan o Donnell is he heading away again. Huge loss to club and county if true

Replying To Lockjaw:  "Thought the same. Eunans were playing it around the periphery and it looked like Naomh Conaill had their familiar defensive block in place. Next thing McGeehin appeared to just ghost into space, and Eunans quickly found him. Two Glenties men belatedly reacted, and almost got to him in time, but McGeehin did very well to snap the shot away from a difficult enough angle and distance. A great score all things considered."
That is what Eoin McGeehin is brilliant at, he has an ability to drift unnoticed into the danger area and get a shot away, which I think would be a massive asset at County level.

A good player for sure, but I get the feeling if he was county material he'd have been appraoched before now? Could be wrong though. No McKenna Cup in 2025 either to give the likes of these lads a run which is a shame.

I heard 1-2 years back that he was definitely approached by Declan Bonner and possibly Paddy Carr after that, but I believe either his University or work commitments forced him to decline. Not sure if Jim McGuinness gave him a call.

He is a fantastic footballer, in many ways the ideal inside forward for playing the mass defensive shapes at Intercounty level, as he regularly drifts free and scores. The odd time I have watched St Eunan's, I kind felt they didn't use him as much as they probably should, like he was starved of ball.

Ulster champions get 6 Ulster All Stars and the runners up get 9. I think these awards have been de-valued by having the public voting for them, sure people just vote for their own county men

It begs the question why he was only a sub on a club team.Does that reflect on him or the guys that are managing these teams.I suppose it was always the way in this country that somebody from outside will always get in before a local.

The standard of umpiring is terrible at the minute. St Eunans got 7 points tonight, over the post is not a point. Gweedore must be very aggrieved they get the chance to play extra time.

To be fair the ref over ruled the umpire and gave the point.

Terrible call on that point this evening, clearly over the bar. Very disappointing game as well I must add. Final will surely be higher scoring but unfortunately Eunans will run away with it. I hope they try and play a more offensive game in Ulster or they won't be going too far.

I've high hopes tomorrow's game will be a better watch. Good achievement for either team to make a final, not many would have predicted either of them in the final.

There seems to a certain sympathy on here for gweedore and not sure why. It was a poor enough match and gweeedore got 7 points. You don't deserve much sympathy when all you can muster is 7 points in a match. In the first half eunans got a black card and won the next 10 minutes one point to nil. Gweedore didn't even push up on the kick out with the extra man and st eunans too a good chunk of the 10 minutes playing the ball around at the back. You have to be a braver than what gweedore were in that period.
Eunans will be disappointed too. They butchered an awful lot. A few simple points in the first half and some very sloppy play in the second when they were attacking.

Gaoth Dobhair defended fairly well, but were woeful in attack. They've no forwards that can kick scores. With Cian Mulligan, MacNiallais and Wardy lost to emigration, the half forward and forward line is not functional. Also missing OMcFF and Gillespie to injuries definitely showed. Ridiculously over-reliant on Dara O Baoill, with the workrate of the rest of the squad, bar maybe Michael Roarty was embarrassing in comparison. Eunans were pretty poor also, maybe the game vs NC sapped the life out of them. This one is Eunan's to lose.

That's putting it mildly which it seems is about all you are allowed to do on here anyway.

A decent amount of stoppage time allowed today, only 2 mins last night??
Poor enough standard all round, Langan can resume his holiday now,
Dungloe just about deserved it but Michaels will have plenty of regrets tonight.
Don't think either team will go far in Ulster.

7 subs second half and only getting two mins?

I thought Enda was very unfair on GD. One stage he didn't give a free to a GD player when a Eunans player ran straight for him with his back turned to the ball from a kick out. Same happens about five mins later but it was the GD player running with the back turned but he gave a free to Eunans.

GD just didn't have the forwards when they got chances. I noticed they didn't have Aidan Breathnach either. They only had 19 players togged in comparison to Eunans. GD will be back and Eunans will take Dungloe by 8+

I thought it was ridiculous tbh worst I've seen in a long time but anyway as you say GD just didn't have the forwards to take their chances,
if Dungloe test Patton out with some high balls you never know, this Eunans team are no big shakes, as bad as GD were without Enda they might no even be in this final.
