Replying To greenfan:  "I don't think it was 400k on the academy. In the treasurers report there was 411k spent on 'Coaching and Games Development' which includes the Academy but also includes other items also."
This will also include the full-time GPOs which are funded by Croke park. The Donegal accounts are designed to be vague. This all needs to come out in the open. There were similar issues in Galway 4/5 years ago and Croke Park was called to investigate. It suits the county executive to have a vague set of accounts.

Replying To TheFlaker:  "You think every coach in the academy is willing to walk away on a whim? Your views on the coaches in your own county is mind boggling. It will all become public soon enough and the men involved will be forced to step away, and it will be for the better of everyone. I will say it again, the man who has overseen the shambles of the past few months purposely avoided the meeting the other night because he hadn't a leg to stand on once the facts were presented to him. But you keep blabbing on about money and throwing out random figures."
Blabbing on about money? Some a throw away comment.

Easy knowing you never went door to door selling tickets for your club. If you did you would know how important it is to make sure value for money is got from all quarters.

But then again you'd know all about shambles coming from Mayo.

Lol you think you have your figures right? You seen a bit rattled throwing insults around. It isn't my fault you don't know what's going on in your own county.

Been involved in selling many a ticket over the years and organised many events to raise money for my club. I often comment on the shambles in my own county when it is relevant. It's clear on this matter you haven't a notion what has gone on behind the scenes. Your comments towards the academy coaches here sums up the agenda you have.

I have nothing against the academy coaches in the schools etc. I feel sorry for them as they are now caught in the middle due to the egos of a few higher up the chain in the academy.

The only agenda here is yours against the coaching officer.

Lol says the man with half a story and a dislike for Karl Lacey. All the coaches are willing to walk in solidarity with Lacey. That isn't done for the craic. They know exactly what is going on. Once again I will say the man in question did not attend the meeting the other night because questions were coming his way that he didn't have the answer for.

How could i possibly dislike one of Donegal's best ever players who gave me and others many a good day in Dublin 3 and around the country?

My argument is purely down to the economics of the academy, we simply cannot sustain the spending that has gone on to this point without a few sponsors. The county board have hurling, camoige, mens and womens football set ups to fund as well as the academy and they must be prudent with their spending otherwise they'll bury themselves in debt.

The only one making this argument personal is you but continually focusing on one man. Did you manage to get a look at his CV yet?

If the man being referenced as not attending the meeting is Michael McGeehin then the reason he was not in attendance is that he was at Donegal Senior Training in Convoy, he's a member of the management team.

Hi TheFlaker: You are being proved correct in things you are saying and predicting about Academy. You obviously know exactly what is happening. Thank you for the insights.

Donegal gaa seems to be an absolute shambles. From the fiasco with the appointment of the county manager to the latest episode with Lacey and all the coaches resigning. How the hell an we expect to compete at any level with other counties that are running their affairs properly

Lol. He has been in attendance for other meetings while part of the backroom team. Carr reckons he has no role apart from organising logistics and is a liason between management and the county board. He should have been in attendance as he was the focus of the meeting!!

Replying To TheFlaker:  "Lol I know his CV. Maybe speak to people around the county who have dealt with him personally. He has managed to land roles in multiple counties and never left a positive trail behind him. He had Mayo players pushing cars around car parks in the 90s. You can defend him all you want. If he is in the right he would have been at the meeting last night but he was absent because most of the questions were going to be directed at him."
He coached us to 2 county titles and was brilliant - not sure impact at county level tho

Yes Audiman I just happen to have solid connections for what has gone on in the past few months at senior and academy level. We have had plenty of controversies ourselves so I am not here to have a laugh. It's genuinely baffling that some men are only interested in having more of the same to keep modern thinkers out of the setup. The lads who were having a pop at me before the Kerry game when I was stating facts will no doubt be keeping the head down. Serious reform in Donegal is on the way.

Looking in from down West or listening to loose rumours - what do you believe the problem is in your own opinion and not someone's else's ?

Agree with this …

The man left for the same reason he left the senior set up and the exact reason Roscommon turned away also…….

Not enough gravy to cover it…..

I am talking about his overall record. Yoyo from job to job and tends to fall out with a lot of people behind the scenes. He has caused this mess at Academy level. These lads are afraid of having Lacey, Jim, Kavanagh and the likes of Murphy floating around the scene as their power is threatened. Jobs for the boys is all that is going on at county board level. Backing each other to the hilt and manaouevering to make sure the next man chosen is a yes man.

Loose rumours? Everything I said would happen is happening? You think I am guessing and being lucky? Honestly the comments here are embarrassing. Lockjaw I think summed it up perfectly when he summarised why McConagle was overlooked for the chairman job. This county board is for the road and reform is coming. You should be delighted.

I know who he is and his History. We are talking about the here and now and what is happening in Donegal and his role. But let's keep saying sure he must be good he has had a heap of jobs in different places.
