Ball seems to be in carrickedmonds court this time around. County board made a bad mistake and can't see the CCC going in their favour. Why not play the game" In all cases where there is an objection or an appeal in processs then competition is suspended pending outcome of appeal. This is the way it works in all counties (can't speak for Leitrim though I believe you are actually a Longford man with Slashers elegence) Don't know why the CB went ahead with QFs with the appeal process open at the time. I couldn't care less for Slashers or Carrickedmond but found the whole saga interesting but Carrick hadn't a leg to stand on from day one. I do have sympathy with how the game with St Columbus ended. Sure the two things are entirely different. In the QF appeal they had no case, and in this one the rules lie entirely in Carrickedmonds favour. The quarter finals were not postponed therefore the play off should not of been postponed. I've no doubt Longford Slashers will launch an appeal of their own if things don't go in their favour. Predictions for the weekend? Am struggling to go one way or the other. There isn't a kick of a ball between any of them at the moment. Killoe will be favourites on paper but i don't think that will worry Abbey too much. Abbey always hard bet and well capable of a shock. Colmcille have no pressure on themselves at all and are motoring well, so they will be a dangerous prospect. Possibly Killoe and Colmcille, both by slim margins. Could be fiery stuff in both games, refs might play a big part. In relegation, Slashers should beat Kenagh, and Carrickedmond should be able to use the past few weeks to motivate themselves and beat Mostrim. I wouldn't rule out a rally by Mostrim though. The CB was incorrect in their decision in relation to the QF and Relegation play-off. Two wrongs don't make a right. The play-off matches tomorrow night should be postponed pending Carrickedmonds appeal. They have a stronger case this time. It doesn't matter whether their case is weak or strong the relegation play offs should go ahead just like the quarter finals. It doesn't matter that you think the County Board is wrong.
