Replying To Spinx:  "We have every right to point the finger outwards.
The last couple of managers we have had (current one included) do not know how to coach a team.
The talent is definitely there but we have been let down on the line.
Just look at the semi final last year!!
An in house appointment next year could be the way forward."

Replying To datsit:  "From reading of the independent article on it this morning, it appears Longford CCC may have made a mistake in not postponing the game with the rule they quoted.
Will be interesting to see what was the CCC thinking in allowing games go ahead when that rule was there.
Further appeals is not helpful to any team in relegation battle"
It's the same rule they were spouting about the 1/4 finals going ahead no? Why not turn up and play the game like everyone else did?

Might be soon time to stop pointing the finger outwards"

Heart goes out to Cashel, but was going to be sad seeing themselves or ballymahon go to intermediate. Something has been rotten in south Longford over the last 20 years to let this all develop. Seems a fluke that rathcline and Carrickedmond are both in senior.

Agree that football in south longford has been dead in terms of competitiveness at senior grade the last decade, but wouldnt go along with it being a fluke that Carrick or Rathcline are senior. For a long time now CarrickSarsfields have held their own at underage. They might not have won multiple 'A' titles but they have often competed within the top divisions and seem to be very good at keeping lads involved and bringing them through to their senior set up.

With the way they are trying to level out the grades, which is a necessity, there was always going to be the chance that clubs like Cashel or Ballymahon would fall victim of a drop , but in view of the longer term picture, youd hope it would be the start of something beneficial.

Don't think its a fluke. Rathcline warrant being senior but the standard of Longford football is very poor. Current Intermediate clubs in Longford would be Junior standard in most other counties. Some senior clubs in Longford (Kenagh, Carrickedmond, Mostrim, Granard) would struggle to compete in the Intermediate Championship in Roscommon.

I've watched a lot of these club games in Longford and bar Killoe, every other team is very average or below. I'd say Frankie Dolan cannot believe he is in a semi final with Abbeylara. He was over Roscommon Gaels (a better team) and only made a quarter final.

Dark days ahead for Longford football - hopefully the Championship structure change can do something.

It is not just the last 20 years. South Longford has never been a GAA stronghold with the odd exception

Cashel apparently thought Killashee didn't try to win the game last night.
They might have a point, but Cashel only have themselves to blame for being where they are.

100% true. Mostrim wouldn't win intermediate in Westmeath. In fact Killoe would struggle to make the knockouts at senior. It's not that Westmeath is strong, that Longford standard is so poor. Frankie Dolan was right so many auld fellas still playing. If the longford clubs showing in Leinster last year wasn't an indicator I don't know what is.

Agree. Westmeath is strong enough but not the strongest but our competition is poor

Bsr kiloe they are not great wither very beatable colmcile and mullinaghta could catch kiloe it's possible.
Kiloe also have numbers too but their rub in leinster is poor which is a shame if they win this year could actually put up a fight leinster like the great mulinalaghta team

Some older lad are still good though so can't really put down team being poor as older lads can be a sign but not always as they can be good condition good players.

Surely today or tomorrow I'd expect. From what I hear is the county board will just relegate carrickedmond if they don't play the game
