Have to agree with you on that one. Time to get back to playing football with a bit of intensity again and give up the pass the parcle nonsense of the last few weeks. Went to Clones and haven't been able to stomach
another sleepwalking game from our lads since. Only watched bits of the 2 games that were on tv. Undecided about travelling on Sunday as I live outside the county. Would like to see last game in the league as I don't expect too many games for us later in the season. The troubles in Donegal could be a blessing or a curse for us. Remember they were good enough to beat Kerry in first round so maybe they have a point to prove now that Carr is gone. Good to see Cian McKeown back one of the few forwards in modern football to take on the defensive blanket. I walked away from the television watching the last match after I saw forwards running back and around in circles instead of into open space for a pass. Somehow Kerry ,Mayo and Tyrone players seem to manage to get into good space but our guys keep waiting for something to happen. Hope it goes well on Sunday as I would prefer to stay up with a bit to spare.

I'd expect a bit of a kick from the lads but I feel sorry for them togging out this weekend with all the noise"
I'd hope we can finish the league campaign off with a win but i don't expect anything handy off Donegal. For example you drew with our neighbours Galway this year a match you created far more chances in and should have won.

Another example in 2003 in round 7 of division 1 you were down and out having lost every game yet beat us in Hyde Park and got us relegated with you.

It appears reading statement that it was the players that got rid of Paddy Carr if so they have no choice but to show and give a kick after those actions.

A 15 I'd like to see is Carroll, Hussey, Walsh, McCormick, N Daly, Hughes, Stack, O'Rourke, Fallon, Cregg, E Smith, Kilroy, McKeon, D Murtagh, Cox

Getting game time into a few others as well off the bench.

I think the fact that the Donegal senior players apparently got rid of Paddy Carr (who seemed like a decent guy) will mean that the Donegal players will want to prove something to their county board & supporters this weekend. This challenge is exactly what the Roscommon team needs, two weeks before the Mayo championship match. The last thing we need is to play a demotivated team at the moment.
Hopefully those senior Donegal players (some of whom played with Karl Lacey) are making this though decision, based solely on how their senior team was been run/managed and are not being influenced in any way by other different and significant issues, currently being debated on the Donegal forum.
I am expecting a tough battle on Sunday and hopefully both teams might loosen the reins a bit and go for it.

Nit sure what Davy is at with the Jersey numbers!
I hear Daire Cregg may have got an injury in training so likely not starting.

Should any more of our U20s from the All Ireland Final of August 2021 be breaking into the senior team or is Davy Burke getting that about right.

Yes Daire i believe missing tomorrows game through injury and is doubtful for the championship opener on April 9th.

As they say it's a 20 man game these days and
Carroll, Doyle, Dolan, O'Carroll and Daire Cregg have been part of the action in most of the League games.
Ruairi Fallon and Tomás Crean have been in the 26 last week and named this week again.
So far so good.
Pity about Daire Cregg's injury but such is life.

Good win today.. felt like a training game at times. Both teams very open today. Donegal were as bad as I have seen in a long time. We did what we had to do but very hard to tell anything after today. Two weeks now to try get ourselves organised for mayo

Game was nerver in doubt today had a challenge vibe about in 2nd half. Ben o Carroll and Eoin mc cormack were excellent in first half. Cox is not on form compared to his form in first year and will be a big call when we have to play Mayo. Overall v happy with league campaign especially with late announcement of manager compared to what is happening with Donegal. Some of point shooting in this league campaign has been exceptionally. Good win overall, done what we had to do. As has been said Donegal were as poor a team as we have played in a long time, very worrying for them. Brian Stack excellent again. After last week I was hoping Cox had turned the corner but he was off form again today. His miss when we had 5v2 summed up his year so far. A number of goal chances were left behind us, need to make sure of any chance we get in Castlebar! Good to see McKeon getting best part of 35 minutes under his belt. Also good to see Cian Connolly return.
The real disappointment today was the injuries picked up be Tadgh and Ben. Tadgh looked to be in a lot of discomfort after the game. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looked. If we were to be without Tadgh, Ben, Daire and Conor going to Castlebar it would be a big blow. So I'm glad we are not going to Croke Park next week!
Looking forward to Easter Sunday now, onwards and upwards

Well done to all the players and management! proved all the doubters wrong who had us tipped for certain relegation.

A very satisfactory league overall. Load of new/young players blooded. Won four of our 7 league games, (no side won more than 4) Defensively coming into this league was our biggest issue yet we ended up with the 2nd lowest score conceded in Div 1 and finished 3rd in the table having beating 2nd place Galway in Salthill and was within a kick of the ball in claiming a result against Mayo.

Today was a stroll once we moved into 2nd gear from the 15th minute. Eleven different scorers contributed 0-20 from play The gap between 3rd and bottom in the place was very visible this afternoon. Best on show for us today was Ruane,Stack,D Murtagh,E Smith and Ben O'Carroll first half. I hope Ben O'Carroll taken off at half time was just precaution and fingers crossed Tadgh O'Rourke injury doesn't keep him out of the Mayo match. Daire Cregg,Conor Daly are big doubts for that match.

Great to see Cian Connolly back on the field and Cian McKeon getting more minutes. Both looking in good shape. A good championship (Quarter final spot at least) on top of this very good league will make for a very successful first year under Davy Burke and his management.

Great to get the job done. Thought Stack was brilliant, Enda really came into the game, Keith Doyle took a couple of great scores. Ben O'Carroll very lively but just some poor decision making with final ball but in fairness happened to more than Ben. Should have won by more which is a great thing to be saying after winning by 12! Great to see Fallon get game time but pity it was at the expense of O'Rourke. Can't understand why sometimes there was acres of space in front of the Donegal goal that none of the forwards seemed prepared to run into when we were on the attack in the second half. Well done to all involved over the league, brilliant to have got 8 points. Who'd have thought? Hopefully the lads will be in good shape now for Mayo.

Donegal were dire and to think those players ousted the manager during the week. If I was one of the few Donegal supporters who made the trip I'd be raging. Fair play to those who did travel.

Congratulations to the team management and the players for their performances in the National league. Played very well today and still left several scores behind them. Hope the injuries to the players are not too bad and that they are available for the Mayo game. Difficult to judge how good the performance was today given how bad Donegal were in the second half. Whenever players got rid of Paddy Carr last week need to have a good hard look at themselves. He showed more decency and motivation for Donegal football than several of their players showed today. Fair play to the Donegal supporters that travelled to the game

Great to see a good number of younger players brought through. I was really impressed by David Murray today as well. Thought he was excellent. I was a bit disappointed that young Walsh didn't get more game time but we don't see what's going on in training and maybe the likes of him and young Crean have helped raise the games of the more established backs. Hopefully Eddie Nolan comes back soon and hopefully the other lads that got injured recently will be back for Mayo.

Just 2 weeks to Mayo in Castlebar. Donegal are in disarray at present but still a good win for Roscommon. If Kerry had edged Galway in Salthill and it was tight, Roscommon would have qualified for what would have been our first Division 1 League Final since 1981 which was the end of our great late 70s team. I'd have liked to reach the League Final but now we can watch Mayo v Galway next weekend and get ready for Easter Sunday at 4pm.

That would have been some achievement to get to a league final. In a way it's the next best possible final pairing as both will go hammer and tongs you'd imagine.
One big difference between this campaign and our last successful Div 1 season is it doesn't feel like we peaked too soon. Not saying we will be at the latter stages of championship but it feels like we have better performances left in us. There's definitely plenty to work on.

Some good news by Davy Burke on the injury front. Ben O'Carroll taken off was to give a half of football to Donie Smith. Conor Daly,Eddie Nolan have returned to full training while Daire Cregg is doubtful he sounds hopeful that he may be fit for the Mayo championship.

Too soon to know on Tadgh O'Rourke hopefully not as bad as it looked.
