Defensive side of things still a major worry.

Deja vu. Let's hope the new management address this or it'll be a long League and a short Summer for Roscommon.

No Roscommon v Galway FBD this year. McStay Mayo instead who looked like they were going to hammer Galway when leading by 10 at half time but Galway had a better 2nd half to only lose by 3.

Be interesting to see how strong Mayo go for the final as a number of their front line players played in a challenge against Westmeath today. Whatever team they play will be fit and full of running. How close will our starting team next Friday be to what will face Tyrone?

It's hard to know alright. If the Smiths don't play some part v Mayo then it's hard to see how they'll be fit enough to start v Tyrone. Maybe they've played in challenges through, if they have then that's fair enough .

What's worrying for me as others have pointed out is the fact that we had probably 4 of our back 6 starters v Tyrone playing v Sligo and were so poor defensively. I know the dome is a forwards venue so I'll reserve judgement in the hope that things will be improved in that department but as we'll be heading straight down if we defend like that in div 1. Tyrone in contrast have conceded 1-7, 0-10 and 0-10 in their 3 McKenna games so far.

It would appear that TG4 might be showing the FBD final between Roscommon & Mayo live this Friday night. For a small station with a low budget they do not get enought credit nationally. Hopefully the schedule I have seen is implemented.

Watched the Sligo game last Friday and very worried going into a tough div 1 campaign. I know we wouldn't have conceded as much in a different venue but with Murray Hussey McCormack and Stack starting it wouldn't fill you with much confidence. We have plenty to come back but mainly forwards whom we have no shortage of. Lavin was decent but I'd like to get a look at Carroll I know he's playing Sigerson at moment though. Don't like to criticise any player who goes out and represents Roscommon but I do feel Murray Niall Daly and Cox can no longer start for us, Cox looked a shell of himself on Friday and I don't think Murray has played well in a while, Niall Daly has a lot of football player but all 3 no doubt will have parts to play but as starters I am not sure. Colin Walsh needs to come into the back line, best back we have produced in years. Conor Daly will be a help and Hughes also. Not sure what story with Kilroy is but having him or probably someone to do his role will be crucial as we need the help. Mark McHugh will add valuable experience there having done that role himself so well. Crean done alright when he came on, the pick of the new backs I felt. Doyle super and hopefully kicks on now as he has unbelievable potential. I'd like to get a better look at Cunnane also, he is a huge man. Thought Ben O Carroll had some good moments classy player just needs to take better options at times but great potential, Adam McDermott very good off bench can be a good option this year. I'd like to see Carroll, Walsh, Cunnane, McDermott and Cregg to see good game time this Friday I know all are playing sigerson though.

Seems a lot of Sigerson games moved to Thursday night so that will rule out anyone involved in those games.
Will we be trying to play our strongest available team or just go through the motions in that ridiculous Bubble fixture on a ridiculous Friday night .

Dylan Ruane,Adam McDermott played today and Ben O'Carroll,Tomás Crean,Darragh Heneghan,Daire Cregg and the Walsh brothers have matches tomorrow so all are unlikely to feature on Friday. If Connacht GAA had any common sense they would have rescheduled this FBD final for Sunday and played in MacHale park or Hyde Park. Mayo will likely have another challenge outdoors along side this FBD final we probably don't have the numbers to do likewise with the injury list and lads involved with their colleges

Some fine young footballers coming through in Roscommon - the next 2/3 years is key in developing these lads!

Good win for University of Galway over UCD in the Siggerson tonight. 2-11 to 1-6. Matthew Tiernan played very well for UCG. David Garland
(Monaghan) best for UCD. Darren Cregg did not play for UCD.

Absolutely. The talent is there for Roscommon to go a long way over the next few years. Let's hope Davy Burke is the man for the job.

With Sigerson going on up to yesterday will many of that 26 be able to feature tonight?
Maybe it's just a programme 26?

Cregg was named at 13 and kicked a point in second half as far I know. Ben O'Carroll and Cathal Feely started to I think

Was picked at 13 but certainly did not play in the first half for UCD. I must have missed him when he came on as a substitute. (Not as prominent as normal) The other two lads were starters alight.

Any word on how Enda Smiths injury is progressing ahead of next week? Good to see Donie and Ciarain Murtagh named tonight.

It's hoped he can make the 26 or not maybe the Galway game for his return.

On Daire Cregg he had niggle and only played 10 minutes for UCD last night. Next week is their more important game as if they lose again they'll be out.

Changes expected to the Roscommon starting team and bench tonight in the Dome. Hopefully a competitive display with plenty putting their hands up for selection against Tyrone on Sunday week.

Didn't think it was possible but we got a low scoring match in the Dome. If someone told me beforehand that we'd hold Mayo to 0-13 i'd be expecting a win but our shooting throughout was so poor with just 0-9 from 26 scoring chances.

Our best performances was from defenders such as McCormack (wrong call on the black) Dolan. Fallon,N Daly,Ruane had some decent moment also. D Smith had a decent impact off the bench as well.

Hard to know where we are for the Tyrone match these FBD games especially in the dome leaves more questions than answers.

Thanks Analyser, hopefully he can. Himself, McKeon and Heneghan are massive losses in games like last night where we're facing a packed defences as they're 3 lads who can run at defences and draw frees. We had no one like that last night. Was poor stuff to watch but it's all about next week now.
