Honestly do you hear yourself. What have we got to shout about. The team played 6 weeks in a row.Gained promotion with game in hand.Mayo would put ye to shame.Fairweather comes to mind with Galway.Mayo went down to Div2 and supporters still followed them. You do realise that a team rises to support around them? That is why Mayo do so well.

Any chance of swapping managers before the Championship? Anthony Cunningham has done a fine job with a smaller player pool at his disposal.

Replying To togoutlads:  "Are you for real on the free stats?! Ross got more gimmes than you'd see with a biased ref at a local underage game! Daly and the Smiths rolling the man and diving through the gap and got frees for it time and again. Irrespective of that, we weren't anywhere near good enough yet again in Croke Park. Roscommon deserved it."
Perhaps I'm viewing these incidents with Rose tinted glasses and I agree Niall Daly won a very soft free but you cannot say that Ros won soft free after soft free. All a Ros lad had to do was lay a hand on a maroon jersey and the ref gave advantage straight away. Ros players were manhandled numerous times and ref ignored it. Maybe in the balance of play these things even themselves out. Anyway good luck to ye in 3 weeks time. No reason why ye can't bounce back and beat Mayo.

I think it's a bit mad that people who were planning to go to the Mayo game may not not because of todays game. Each to their own I guess.

We have got 6 senior All Irelands since 1951. Mayo have Zero. Roscommon have Zero since further back during World War 2. Galway will probably win a few more before any of these manage to lift Sam.

A staunch Galway "hurling man" AC masterminded a Galway football defeat today...hope we are able to keep it kicked out to Mayo!
Roscommon the more "direct" team Galway going side to side...too slow to move the ball up the field!

Still a soft centre in the team. Looked like yet another 2nd half collapse until Shane Walsh came on and we managed to drag ourselves back into the game and actually get ahead at one point. But then another ridiculously soft goal conceded a la Ruane last year where a fella does a couple solos, a hop and a couple spins and finds himself past a few Galway backs who barely lay a finger on him. It's a blight on our game.

We had a couple chances. Connelly rattled the post when he should have scored a goal and we only had Walsh for a quarter of the game. You could see the difference he made immediately. He creates chances for either himself or others.

Six counties have won more All-Irelands than Galway since 1966.

Donegal and Offaly have won just as many as we have in that same period.

But if laughing at our neighbours makes up for only winning two All-Irelands in the last 50 years, then maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way.

Mayo and Galway combined wouldn't get within an ass's roar of kerry.

Nothing to suggest from this performance that we are way off Mayo. Roscommon will be looking at this too thinking they have a very good chance of a connacht title this year

Not sure who's had a worse day in Croke Park? Galway or Mayo?

Are you watching them against Kerry? Getting hammered. People who say we are outside the top 10 know little about big ball. While we are not top 4 we are in Div 1 on merit. Whether we beat Mayo or not was never going to be decided by the result today. Ros deserved their win but by God we could not buy a free and a few of theirs were of the soft variety. Improvement needed of course but I won't be joining the doom and gloomers.

We have a serious chance of beating mayo. They now have a raft of injuries and cillian o connor is a liability.

Murtagh went past Walsh, Tierney, Conroy and Kelly for his goal. All defending with lazy arms. Got to get your body in front of an attacker and hold him up and force him to play it.

Agreed, but the flipside to that is that it will pile the pressure on the management because if we can't beat a depleted mayo outfit the management are doomed.

A brutal ref today. Didn't cost yet the game I thought, pulled Rossies in the wrong too. Conroy was majestic. Comer didn't get going until it was too late. Can't see many flocking to McHale in 3 weeks after looking at ye and us today. Plenty of room for improvement in both camps.

Ross deserving winners without a doubt. Goalie kept us in it after be opened up several times. From a Galway view point some very strange calls by Joyce/Concannon again. Looking forward we have chance against Mayo if all players are available. They, it would seem, have so far been unable to replace the likes of Higgins, Boyle and Barret. The Connacht cup can be won by Galway or Roscommon in 2022.

In 3 weeks time Conroy is probably the only player that they won't have though.
It's more likely than not that Mullin, O Connor, Hennell and Durcan will be back.
