Replying To Fox.1n.7he.b0x:  "Why should they feel embarrassed i think they have a case to appeal weather they get beaten by 15 points after the fact that's not the point, but you have to admit this has been handled very badly by county board"
Tell me what case they have? The original Galway football by-law is still in force and was not replaced by the new regulation from Croke Park.
It's up to the clubs to read the rules which were provided before the championship started.

Congrats to our all star nominees, our two most consistent players all year so no surprises there.

Conor Carroll… a Galway man nominated for young player of the year for another county in a position we have opening struggled in for the last number of years. You could not make it up but congratulations to him, he's had a fine year with the Rossies.

Replying To Sportsfanatic90:  "They'll have a tough job v dunmore. Caherlistrane and spiddal a straight shoot out but caherlistrane are starting to move in the right direction albeit a bit late.

Barna v Tuam will be a good game and barna could surprise a few.

Oughterard done, their style of play doesn't suit them but suppose it keeps them competitive.

Moycullen different level to MM, cgalway, Tuam and another level to the rest.

With regards micheals I can see why their up in arms, surely it should have been bottom of both groups of 6 be in relegation then 5th from those two groups play 4th & 5th of group 3, seems unfair they had 1 less game."
Do you mean MM,CG and Corofin rather than Tuam?Just wondering.

So it is the same situation in group 2 after last night's results - Barna finish third under the old rules but it would have been Oughterard under the new rules. I wonder if Oughterard will object? If the rules were clearly stated by the county board at the start, then nobody should have grounds for appeal. This is all central council's fault for interfering in the first place.

Same situation for sure.
Oughterard would have finished third, Caherlistrane fourth and Barna into the relegation preliminaries.

Same happened in Offaly, Offaly County Board used the new rules but never voted them in, Gracefield should have been first but were moved to third, they objected and went to DRA but played quarter final under protest won the game then won appeal, they had to redraw the quarter finals and ended up with the same 4 in semi finals anyway but just shows you that the county board and clubs need to read the rules bef the start of the championship

Good. It's probably a net positive for the respective clubs also

So Claregalway bet Oranmore this morning, fair play to them..
Tuam comfortable winners over Salthill Knocknacarra in the other semi.
It's an All North county final Tuam Stars v Claregalway for their third meeting this year..
Claregalway won their group game with the Stars winning the North final comfortably.
I believe the Stars looking for their first minor title at county since the early 80s ..

This year was their first north board title at minor since 2006 so must be a long time since they won the county minor.

Interesting post on the Claregalway Oranmore result seen as both clubs have had sojourns in each "board" in the not too resent past,I take it poster meant beat, not a bet on the game.

Any news on the St Michaels appeal to Connacht Council which is on tonight ? If successful then Tuam and Barna can't go ahead tomorrow night ?

Word is that the Connacht Council rejected St Michaels appeal on the old scoring difference rules last night. It would appear a number of other clubs are awaiting the outcome from last night to determine their own appeals. Preliminary quarter final goes ahead in Ballinasloe tonight.

Val Daly will be a happy man with that draw. After all their messing about drawing with Dunmore and losing to Tuam, they end up avoiding Corofin and Moycullen to get St James' in a quarter final.
