Their appeal is based on if the objection micheals have put in would have had them in place of salthill and be in a quarter final. Not sure why caherlistrane are appealing it may have moved them into 4th and avoid this relegation play off

Whats the St. Michael's objection about? Also, are Salthill going ahead with their new pitch development in St. Michael's parish?

Wrong. Oughterds appeal would be to replace barna , not salthill

The promotional video of the proposed new facilities in Mincloon, Rahoon which was launched last March referenced the project being shovel ready by October !!!!.

However they never got around to lodging the planning application. Instead they have lodged a planning application for new flood lights in the Prairie in Salthill so they mustn't be moving this time .

What ever chance Aran have Monivea haven't a prayer. MB fielded with O Curroin and O Beolan two of there ex county players and they could only manage a one point win.

Great result by Cortoon. I had fancied Glenamaddy

Definitely a serious drop in standards back west. Only one team making it to the last four in the intermediate and with spiddal letermore and carroroe hot favourites to drop a grade it's very worrying for the game in Galway

If Ireland win the rugby or even get to a semi the popularity of the game will increase in the West putting more pressure on teams when fielding not to mention standards and we all know how soccer is chipping away at clubs.

Fancy Cortoon could win this intermediate championship from here

If memory serrves me right Cortoon were relegated to division 4 in the league. Standards most certainly falling

Replying To anotheralias:  "I disagree. Did the clubs really know the rules? Maybe they were posted to them and you could argue that they needed to read fully but in light of a general GAA rule being applied differently between codes there was a clear onus on the CB to make things extra clear. That would have prevented this dilemma. Now ,don't get me wrong, the rules are the rules, and ultimately I expect the appeals to fail, but I am delighted that there are appeals in order to call out these inefficiencies and maybe encourage the county board get their house in order for 2024. By the way I think the new rule is a good one. I'm no Michael's supporter but I'll tell you what is bull, people insinuating that they have no right to appeal because they only scored 1-1 in a game. St Michael got 3 points from the 2 games against their competitors for the 3rd spot and that would have been enough to see them through in most counties this year and probably Galway in 2024."
It was clearly stated in the fixtures booklet at the very start of the year.

Who do you think will win it? Kilconly still have to be favourites with cortoon close behind. Monivea have been mine from the outset but only struggled to beat mb by a point missing 2 of their key players

But did it state that this rule is different to then new rule being applied elsewhere. No. And this is my point. Even if you saw this rule and then later saw the new national wide rule you would be forgiven for assuming that the new rule supercedes the old one ( even though the wording did give an opt out clause). If there is one word that I wouldn't use in relation to this saga it is the word "clearly".

The Jimmies full value for their lead at half-time here in Salthill, hopefully the injury to Sam O'Neill isn't serious. Mountbellew will have to bring Michael Daly on for the second half, they look flat. It would be mighty to see St James's progress.

Deserved win for Milltown. Would have won comfortably if not for a bizarre decision not to award a penalty for a blatant pull down on Mike Martin when he was clean though on goal. Jack Kirrane excellent.

Claregalway just didn't play well.Milltown deserved it today but CG did not play like they normally do and missed alot so I don't think Milltown were that comfortable really.
