I totally agree anyone think Dunmore have arrived at senior after a draw they have lost to Michael's next 2 matches will tell where they are if they lost next 2 they be in relegation ,, and no I don't think they will get relegated as there are 5/6 very poor senior teams , Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 1020 - 28/08/2023 16:00:07 2502675 Link 0 |
I never said he was the annointed one.I only said that Annaghdown are playing more consistently since he started coaching them. That is a fact. They beat both those teams very well and you can only play what is in front of you.

I also think the jury is out with Derek Savage as he has only coached under 16 North team.It is a huge jump upto coaching under 20 which are adults. It is hugely different set of player management skills. It will be interesting as he has a set of pretty good set of players coming through.

Yes I would think tuam will bounce back and beat them and still make 1/4 finals,

We r improving year on year, I don't no wat arrived at senior is supposed to mean. We aren't at the level of corofin moycullen and a few more but we are certainly better than some and will improve more next year. Dunmore10 (Galway) - Posts: 153 - 28/08/2023 19:12:19 2502723 Link 0 |
Why are ye all going on about under age? Who cares! I saw Moycullen had their Under 10s winning an all Ireland across their socials yesterday so if that's the case then we can all give up . Let's focus on seniors here … I didn't join this to discuss Dunmores chance in 2030 cause they've great young ones

No need for a relegation play off they may aswell just relegate Spiddal and Leitir Mor now. Next year there will be no Gaeltacht team on senior for what must be years as see Monivea winning inter!! Moycullen (not a Gaeltacht team in my eyes) look a step above Corofin & Mountbellew & will give all Ireland series a real push again!! Standard must be said is very poor!! Moycullen to win Frank comfortably enough Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 317 - 29/08/2023 07:36:27 2502745 Link 0 |
Good appointment, smart guy. He won an Intermediate title with Cortoon in 20. In my opinion, it's about who you surround yourself with as in selectors, a good defensive coach, a good forwards coach, s+c coach. Are the lad's selectors or coaches? Claregalway and Moycullen are both Gaeltecht teams.

They got taught a lesson by the jimmes in athenry in how to use the football with and without the wind. The jimmies also wouldn't be a traditional powerhouse. MapleSyrup (Galway) - Posts: 165 - 29/08/2023 10:47:16 2502787 Link 0 |
Derek savage has managed cortoon shamrocks, do some of ye follow football at all

Lets be honest though they are not Gaeltacht teams but thats not the point jsut highlighting the struggles of the "West". I cant see Leitir Mor or Spiddal avoiding the drop. I thought Corofin might give it a right go this year but if anything Moycullen have kicked on from last year and I see them in Croker in early 24.

Some 'west' teams are bound to be struggling in senior. It's perhaps a statistical inevitability, with such a high proportion of city and west sides playing senior football. Was there ever such a high percentage of city and west clubs in senior football at the same time?

Please explain how Moycullen aren't considered a Gaeltacht team.

We need to get you in as fixtures coordinator. You'd free up a load of weekends in the calendar.

And all I said is that it will be interesting. You seem to think that you know it all about football when most of us are just interested in seeing what happens.

Moycullen and Claregalway are technically Gaeltacht areas. But it should be pointed out that there 2 key differentiators between these areas and what I would consider to be more quintessential Gaeltacht teams. 1. Extremely low percentage of native speakers compared to the south/west Connemara regions 2. They are effectively sub urban sprawls with high populations and would definitely not be considered as rural areas, in my opinion. anotheralias (Galway) - Posts: 974 - 29/08/2023 14:44:27 2502860 Link 2 |
