Replying To daveboy:  "I like the look of that Galway team. Especially Kevin cooney 14. Conor cooney not starting imo is a good thing. He hasn't done it for me on the big days recently so a run off the bench might suit him along with Flynn. Dynamic midfield. I think Burke should start 3 and Mc 6. Better balance I feel that way."
Galway need to up their game to win this one, but they are well capable of doing that and Tipp always bring out the best in them. It's a good lineout and with with some very strong subs off the bench I think they will shade it.

We conceded our share of avoidable goals with Burke at 3 also

At last, proper knockout hurling. Time to see what Galway and Tipp are are really made of. Will either team be in contention to win the Liam McCarthy, probably not. They always serve up a cracker and I think Saturday will be no different. A maximum of 2 points between them. Which ever team gets the bit of luck will win it and please don't be blaming the referee or manager which ever team loses.

Replying To tommy k:  "What do people think of Eanna Murphy being left in goals for the Tipp game as he has been very poor in the last 2 games conceding 6 goals albeit he hasn't had much protection from his fullback line or further out the field?"
Only at fault for one of those goals so no!

To be honest I thought he could have done better for a couple of the KK goals also and at least one of the Wexford goals in the first Leinster game. He doesn't fill me with confidence but as I said previously he hasn't received much protection from the outfield players either who didn't adequately track or tackle the providers or scorers for a number of those soft goals conceded.

Not over yet Galway may regret them missed goal chances

By far the better team on the day..how ye only had 2 points to spare is unbelievable..Shelley made 3 outstanding saves and the wides ye hit were awful..it sets up the same semi as last year and I am very nervous..whelan is playing outstanding stuff and think we,ll need a special performance to get over the line..looking forward to 2 weeks time..

Great win there, plenty to work on with the wides , Tipp goalie kept them in it. Roll on Limerick.

Linnane is some man for work rate. He easily won the battle with Noel McGrath. Great sign when McGrath got hooked. Fahy brilliant with dirty ball wins.

Great win, despite multitude of mistakes but the lads firmly answered the questioning of their character. Limerick - bring them on, they're red hot favourites so the pressure is on them.

! O my God ! Ye got to give up trying to lose games. Galway were 15 points better but it was close in what was a poor enough game. Galway defence improved and were better. Though dealing with a poor Tipp forward division. Conor Whelan is a special player "Jakie" with fabulous touches and fielding ability that has not been seen for sometime.

In fairness, the goals weren't missed per say and some credit to the keeper for those magical saves. It's the 18 wides I'm more concerned about. If we'd lost the game, that would have been the reason why.

A poor enough performance only a few played as well or better then they did against Kilkenny but like cork last year results are all that matters half back line excellent but cooney just needs to settle with those long range

Forward line was woeful other than whelan bar fahy and cooney for short spells.

Probably for the best we scraped the win rather than winning by 8 plus like we should have.

Really feeling for Connor Cooney missed short two sitters and had another wild shot right after coming on.

Murphy in goal needs a rocket don't know is it over confidence or lack of attention but some of the things he does are not acceptable.

Tipp were horrendous and shows how overhyped Munster is outside limerick

Kk and galway clear no 2 & 3 over last few years and would expect Kilkenny to do a job on Clare again

TYPICAL TYPICAL TYPICAL tight affair with Tipp. Delighted for Galway of course but Tipp always bring it. Their goalie was MAN OF THE MATCH in my opinion. Hard luck Tipp. Galway Abu.
