Replying To tiobraid:  "Come back to me next week if this fixture is up then.."
Seeing that "this fixture is up" Tipp are 8/11 odds on favourites with Paddy Power to beat Galway on Saturday with Galway just at 11/8. Sounds about right in fairness given the contrasting form of both teams this year.

Replying To katser:  "Cahills tactics since he took over have been to just shoot at the posts and try outscore the opposition which leaves them vulnerable at the back."
His team plays a far shorter game than any Tipp team before him. They are concentrating on working the ball in for goals rather than the more traditional Tipp way of a long ball inside. Plenty of changes to the way Tipp normally play.

Here's hoping there are a few changes for tipp on Saturday. For me, daithi back to 3, McInerney benched, mannion at 6 with linnane on the wing, Killeen in for Conor cooney. Here's hoping

Hey listen I'm no Tipp fan but one thing you have to admit: THEY CAN SCORE GOALS. Whether it was Lar Corbett, Seamus Callinan, Forde, or whoever: they scored lots of goals.

I wouldn't pay much attention to that. These two teams play each other close no matter the circumstances. It'll be a battle no matter what. Tipp may get an early lead then they have that typical 20 minute lull where they do nothing then Galway will make it close, then we'll see I suppose.

I see myself and KATZER and one other lad picked Galway to beat Tipp in the other thread. Ok. Fair enough. Galway have some work to do to convince ye. Galway Abu.

It seems like a good policy to me anyway to outscore the opposition. No doubt the katser, she has a better plan!

Replying To kiloughter:  "Katser I think whoever wins on Sat have a great chance against Limerick in the semi final. Nice break between games unlike in football where some of the preliminary quarter finalists will play 3 weeks in a row. As for Sat hard to call. The fact Tipp scored a pile of goals the last day does not concern me in that often in a subsequent match some of those opportunities go anywhere but into the net. If we marshall their key forwards I think we will win. Massive weekend for Galway GAA so I hope Galway folk turn out in their droves to support both our senior teams."
It sure is a massive Weekend for Galway, up against clearly our two biggest rivals of all time in hurling and football.
Tipperary in hurling where it borders the home of Galway Hurling in East Galway and Mayo in Football where it borders the home of Galway Football in North Galway.
It could be a disaster where both hurlers and footballers are knocked out within 24hrs, but I'm confident We can win both!! Best of luck to our hurlers and footballers this Weekend.

I think the hurlers will win this weekend. Galway by 2/3 points, I have a feeling we get a Cathal Mannion masterclass wherever he plays

Yep. Just making them a different way this year though. Think your team would've suited stopping the old way they scored goals better. Having said all that I still think you will win!

There are some people in Galway hurling that don't like to hear the truth... Too many players playing today that are way passed their sell by dates, anybody that watches club hurling in Galway knows j cooney is the best 6 in the county.

And Conor Cooney is by far the best forward in club hurling! Really like Joe at 6, but we are again robbing the team of his ability going forward. Just a great all rounder. I'd like to see him at 6 and Daithi at 3 or even 8. I'd be expecting a few changes this weekend either way. Think Sean Linnane will start. Has show coming on against Dub and Kk that he can do a job around the middle, maybe man marking job on Noel McGrath

His equivalent in Tipp is Noel McGrath so there's the rub!

I hate to sound complacent (I know the players wont be) but I dont think this Tipp team will trouble us at all. Im going for a 5-8 point Galway win. Bearing in mind its unusual for Galway to win by this much of a buffer. I think the semi final against Limerick will be an entirely difference scenario and who knows after that. lets not get too ahead of ourselves.

Would love to see MD doing it for Dublin but dont think they have the quality, so its a Clare win for me of about 10 points also.

In fairness, Conor cooney didn't get one point from play in the two county finals in 2022 against loughrea, oisin coyle cleaned him both days. Oisin coyle is a better half back than McInerney, and Jamie Ryan is a better forward than any of the forwards on the bench currently

CONOR COONEY NOT STARTING! Just saw the Galway starters on Twitter. Wow. Could it be the end of an era?!? I think himself and Jason Flynn would be mighty off the bench late in matches. Galway Abu.
