Sheehan and Shanley out of the Sligo game with injury according to Wexford people, no Daithi either if decides to stay on as he hasn't been involved so far, playing Monaghan in a challenge game on Sunday.

I'd go along with similar enough personnel, only move KOG to wing-forward and bring in Mini or Tubs corner forward and so revert Malone back to wing-back (Dylan Furlong looses out). Also I would have Jim Rossiter as a direct replacement for the injured Sheehan, maybe Naomhan Rossiter either. Keep saying it, Porter is lost in the full-back line.

Alot of close calls to be fair, another thing to be factored in is the amount of league games in Wexford park in the last few years where the wind has played a big impact, depending on if your with or against the elements in the 1st half you might pick either lads capable of scoring from range or lads suited to carrying the ball into a strong breeze.

Interesting thought Wexico! Are they going to keep the extra subs for this year?

Unfortunately the team has to be picked before the toss and knowing if with or against the wind. Be ideal world for you if not the case.

True but at least might adjust a players position, e.g. if your playing into a gale and your FF line are seeing no ball might be not point having a very influential player in there.

Cuteness is a quality our lads should improve on as they experience playing better teams.

I believe that is where he will be playing - he will be used as a target man and have others play off him. Could also be used on the 40 as he has that ability to hold up the ball and direct the play but so far the game they seem to be playing is get it into him in the FF line and have other play off him.

If I am honest, I don't think he is the answer. He hasn't the scoring threat inside for inter-county, the skill-set for our centre-forward problem area nor the discipline for wing-forward (must be the most black-carded Wexford player since the rule was introduced).

Like the general consensus about Shels falling a bit short vs. Naas was that they don't have a marquee forward, yet he plays up front for them which is instructive. And I have never seen him take the game by the scruff of the neck for his club, nevermind Wexford. His best assest is probably winning ball and off-loading quick, but that is easier to snuff out at county level.

Not sure about the whole black card thing as I don't think he has played a lot of football in the last couple of seasons. Didn't start the club season this year only came in for the ko stages if memory serves me correctly. I would say he is the best option there is in the 14 spot right now.

Anyone hear anything on the challenge game v Monaghan? Don't think there was an all weekend training camp as I saw 1 of the players at the Wexford Kilkenny game on Saturday.

Anyone know the ticket arrangements for the game Sunday? I assume it's pre-bought tickets only still.
