I know i said that about the 5 points and you know what id stick by that to, though we take the league with a pitch of salt, though i did think of the two teams we had more headroom to improve. I was very happy with draw. I suppose if both teams were to play i think it would be more 50/50 then at any time since after 2011. I was always quietly confident we were better than everyone else over the last while to beat them, while i think game swill be more 50/50 now. Dont get me wrong im not writing of our chances, i think we will be hard bet and competitive, but weighing everything up i think we are maybe a good 30-40% weaker then we were in 2019, some of the players gone its an incredible loss, that not even Dublin cannot feel. That team for me now is done and dusted, this is a new Dublin. Continuing on what that team did would be incredible.

I suppose my feel overall is we have regressed, others have improved, feel like a recipe of shifting sands to me, though we will be competitive, i just think we are there to be shot at and more vulnerable. Who knows may my lack of confidence is apprehension or nervous ahead of a new season, but that's my feel."
Well we all get nervous for the championship User so I know how you feel. Of course the Dubs are nt as strong as 19. They possibly can't be with McCaffery Mannion gone. Connolly and other players getting older. Yes the cards fell right for Dublin as well last year. I reckoned last year only Donegal Kerry or Tyrone were the contenders. However Dublin still strong and maybe still too strong. We don't know yet. Time will tell.

Well if nothing else at least you guys know we're nervous enough up here - or in your case Mick prob across the road. ;)

Win or loose we've been in bonus territory for quite a while, i remember being mad to do back to back and the relief when we did it! :D Wayno summed up best after we did th efive in a row, we're like an old man now, in retirement, content with life and watching the sun go down, anything else good that comes are way we will take it for its joys. Though i think we are coming into Kerrys time now Mick, thats just being honest as football fans, id be surprised elsewise, despite all the shenanigan's we get up to on here.

Still its great to have ball back. Im not sure if its me, but i am like caged animal to get back to games, i really really miss it, find it really really hard not being bale to go - om sure everyone is the same, miss it dreadfully, not just the games, but the week of the game and working toward it, the buzz on the day, the rituals, hopping on the train, meeting the gang, the pints in the sun in Drumcondra, walk up Clonliffe, pints in the Ball Alley after, all the old faces in old the old places, seems like its been age.........and a painful one at that.

It's easy to see what you're doing here :-)

For some strange reason you think Kerry are finally catching up with dublin even though the evidence actually proves different,

When we played ye in the league we won the 1st 3rd and 4th quarters of the game and still only managed a draw, but you somehow think we can beat ye in a 50/50 game at Crokepark (how can any game against dublin in Croke Park be 50/50 though) but basically you're covering your bases in case by some act of god we do beat ye then you can say it's because ye were only running at 70%, and that's how we bate ye, you're afraid that we're the team that'll beat the mighty dubs and your trying undermine us incase we do

You're very transparent and you're not fooling any1.

I think we all can't wait for the days of big crowds again and pints and chats etc

I think a Connacht title and a decent showing v Dublin in a semi final would be a great year for Mayo. Add to that the promotion back to division 1. The loss of Cillian is a fatal blow and winning Connacht is going to be a struggle but it's the chance for someone else to step up so looking forward to see what happens in the weeks ahead.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say Dublin v Donegal final.

The loss of Cillian is indeed a huge blow but sometimes a team raises its levels to compensate so it will be interesting to see how Connacht plays out. I still think Mayo are the team to beat in the west.
Not sure Ulster teams will be able for Kerry just yet in the other semi final but they are always up for it and semis are sometimes unpredictable.
Either way it's great to be back talking about football and looking forward to the first round this weekend.

Ditto your fooling no one , Kerry are ready to take over with the fittest team of athletes in the country
Dublin are regressing and will need to start rebuilding after so many retirements.

He's just covering his bases Avon incase by some miracle we do manage to win allireland he'll say sure dublin were only running at 70% before the championship and that's how Kerry won, but that'll only be said if its Kerry, its its some other team that wins it it'll be the best win ever.

Ye can talk down dublins chances all ye want and pretend yer sick of winning allirelands but I can gaurentee you the dublin team and dessie won't be thinking that way, why else would they have gone back training during a national lockdown.

Shrooms clearly induce feelings of paranoia and delusion. Not recommended.

The team that beats Dublin i wonder is there much joy in it now, its not exactly toppling Goliath, no MDM, Brogans, Connolly, MDMA, McCaffery's, Flynn's, Connolly's Mannion's maybe even Cluxton's if the rumors' are true. That team will go down in immortality really.

Time waits for no man, but man was it fun!

But still we have five of that immortal team (maybe six if the rumors' are false) to build around, Jamsie, Kilkenny, Rock, Fento and Rock. Its as good as anyone else even if a couple are now getting very senior, we should be competitive. But sands are shifting.

Rumours are called rumours for a reason. I was talking to two men yesterday at seperate times. Both claim to have inside info on the Dublin panel and both gave me the name of their source. One told me Cluxton was gone for certain and 10 minutes later the other fella told me Cluxton was back in training. Glad I did nt share my inside info lol.

Actually meant the King of Con.

Id actually put Brian Howard in there as well if we can keep him fit, Rolls Royce of a footballer.

Could watch him play all day and never get tired.

So maybe six top top quality players.

We should be competitive.
