Don't worry about GAA, they'll only start league when it's safe to do so, unlike others.

To claim other sports started back when unsafe to do so is lies. No sport did.

No bitterness at all, will always stick up for GAA and their faults, but people on here might have bigger interests in other minority sports. Asking GAA to wait until Aug/Sept to start and others starting soon and some already playing doesn't stand up.

Professional rugby and soccer have regular mandatory Covid testing, which costs thousands of Euros. The GGA cannot afford this level of testing. Besides, if a rugby or soccer player tests positive, they will have to self-isolate, while still getting paid. If a GAA player tested positive before or after a game, he/she would not be able to go to work.

Inter county training will be allowed to resume in March for NFL preparation. Club will likely be held off until April/May.

But you weren't just sticking up for GAA you were having digs at everything else. Fine and well to stick up for your sport.

Anyway from my experience ferrying kids from everything from GAA to gymnastics and tidlywinks........ generally it is 90% the same people at everything, helping out coaching, washing jerseys, etc. Doesn't have to be them against us all the time.

GAA championships need to be null and void in my honest opinion. We are in a global pandemic

Null and void?
No they dont. They havent even started so it wouldnt be declaring them null and void and we are in global pandemic but that doesnt mean we shouldnt play the games. They were able be played late last year and could be played in same manner as that

Inter county games dont have level 5 clearance
The GAA has been forced to once again delay the resumption of inter-county action, raising the spectre of another 'club first' season with championships, and possibly leagues, being played later in the year as they were in 2020.

A meeting of the GAA's Covid Advisory committee this evening digested talks between leading GAA officials and Government that took place earlier this week where it was made clear that under current Level Five restrictions, there was no clearance for inter-county games to proceed.

The GAA had sought clarity on the status of its inter-county games which had got clearance during the previous Level Five lockdown from October to December.

But with stricter measures in place to suppress the virus, the advice for the GAA was not to resume as early as planned, even though rugby at international and provincial level continues and the League of Ireland is due to commence at the end of March.

Seems like the only way inter-county will start is for GAA to pay players even a £ 1 or € 1 a week. Then they could be classed as paid players. GAA getting left behind and lots of players could just hang them up.

I saw this statement from the Gaa,this I think will change the whole calendar again..hard to see a league starting now first week in May with championship following..is there now a possibility of club being played first again?its going to make getting a calendar in place for clubs and county very difficult..

GAA hasnt been that bad. If you play rugby and some other sports you mightnt have played much in nearly a year. GAA got a full season in 2020 played out. rugby didnt get the 19-20 season finished and the 20-21 season looks like the most any rugby player will have played is 4/5 games.

Langford town v Cabinteely is elite while Dublin v Kerry isn't.....really NPHET. Zero Covid is obviously the goal, and nothing wrong with that, but at what price to mental and physical health.
