Replying To moc.dna:  "Looking forward to Mayo upsetting the GAA hierarchys dream & the returning hordes out of hibernation by spiking the coronation. The majority hoping Mayo pip this which can be done. Hopefully Horan will spring a surprise & target that Dublin full back line. Massive pressure on the ref as everybody knows what the GAA & Sky want, hopefully Mayo won't be rode as badly as expected."
Is it Dublin Joe or Gough reffing the match? Or will Dublin John spare them for the final?

That's it

Keep the online Kerry smear campaign going against an official.. I see AOM was doing the same via twitter over the weekend... which was pretty rich coming from him..

He was happy tricking refs in his pomp and just as long as the calls went his way all was rosey aye..

Chap has zero class making such comments

But hey.. might as well stay true to form

Really playing devil's advocate here. But wouldn't it just be peak Mayo to finally find a way to beat the Dubs after all these years, but then to go and lose the final against Kerry/Tyrone?!?

I've resisted in believing the curse. But if that happens I'm going to reconsider.
Either that or God is a Galway man.

There's no curse, all in the head and usually in the heads of the excuse brigade! Galway hurlers were told for years that they were cursed! Thankfully the 1980 team proved the naysayers wrong!

I've been thinking the same thing!!!! lol. what could be equally as bad is if Dublin pips them again and go on to win the final at a cantor.
a short note on the game. it's a hard one to call but logic tells you Dublin all the same. Dublin will be well-rested after their game/training session/ light evening entertainment last week. I really don't think tiredness will be an issue with Mayo. they'll be resting all week and taking it handy physically. at this stage of the championship, mayo are well battle-hardened whereas Dublin haven't been tested all year!!!! (out from their own training sessions) so it'll be interesting. we've often seen games like this going to the team that had to fight more during the year

Replying To Joxer:  "On a given day with 15v15 that all means jack squat. Many thought the same when facing Donegal, an exceptional Donegal team, in 14. At the end of the day this Mayo team, although lacking consistency, still contains top notch footballers and all-stars all over the pitch. That and the fact that they have as much experience as this Dublin team in playing at Croker to a packed house at the business end, means that they have to be respected. A couple of misfiring forwards, a few full back line defensive lapses and the scales will tip. Mayo have the players to do the damage. Dublin can show complacency. Big games required of our big name players. I'm sure Jim has a plan and I'm sure the lads will perform but it should be a cracking contest."
They don't have the most important experience of them all, winning an All Ireland, not to mention 4 of them in a row! Gavin doesn't do complacency, give us a break!

It was Roscommon who were the gods in Connacht this year, beating both Mayo & Galway!

Should have read * can't * show complacency. But yeah apart from 2014 Gavin's teams haven't shown any.

Curse is bull alright...and it's not unusual for a sports team with a long loosing streak to be associated with a curse, Clare Hurlers, Boston red sox etc...

Who knows how Saturday night will go. Our 9th championship game in 2019 after playing in two continents, spending three currencies. Sure we'll give it a go anyways!

Mayo are probably skys No 1 team for viewership along with Donegal and Kerry.
Dubs are big on a national level but are quite small on the international scale .
Emigration left is roots.

Can see 2 O Sheas starting mid-field and then maybe Ruane in for Seamie at half time.
In a few games against Dublin, the O Sheas have been on top in first half or at least breaking even but then run out of steam and Ruane is the perfect lad to come on and add energy and direct running.
Ruane and Seamie i dont think have the fitness to last a full game.
