Replying To baire:  "I have seen lots of harsh criticism on your own forum towards Wexford especially when you lost to a team wearing maroon! You'll get them in every county and in every club."
For sure. But there's noone posting on the Wexford threads saying Leinster is a 2 horse race don't mind those flakey f#####rs from up West they won't win anything when the chips are down etc etc.

Replying To Viking66:  "He demolished the AI championship during that time also. Cork had a great team and won 3. Tipp won 1 in 2001 beating you in the final, but really we should've beaten them in the drawn semifinal it was all Wexford in the closing stages."
Pat O'Connor blew the final whistle when Paul Codd, probably the best forward in the country from distance at the time, had the ball in his hand all alone fifty yards out from the Tipp Goal. One ten seconds more and Tipp were gone

Pay no heed to that type of trolling and nonsense - hurlers on the ditch or most likely on the sofa who never played the game at any level and get their kicks from their keyboards.

Yep. And then the replay turned into a bit of a battle and we lost with only 13 on the pitch.

12 out of 13!
That's why Galway were asked to take part. I'm not saying Galway made much of a difference but that's proof of Cody's demolition of the Leinster championship."
True baire that's what I have been trying to tell Viking! lol

That's exactly how I saw it.

Still hurts....

Not only did Cody want to win, he wanted to crush every opponent that got in his way, totally ruthless. Even after all his wins he doesn't appear to be satisfied or content with his lot.

I know the reasons the Leinster Council wanted you in. And why the Galway Board wanted you in. It was gone through at the time and over and over again every couple of years since. All I'm pointing out is right now it hasn't made too much difference competitively. As in on the pitch. Kilkenny are still going for a 5 in a row of Leinsters this year.

Last years Leinster final summed up Galway's fragile inferior complex at the mercy of the cats."
Where are you from Pat? Are you always this nice to us?

Galway have been in 10 of those Leinster finals though since joining in 2009 and won 3 (should have won more e.g. last year as a good example) which is a lot more than Wexford or Dublin have been in during the same time. Galway definitely have improved the competition to KK dramatically more than before Galway arrived.

Pat O'Connor (a Limerick man from Ahane next door to Newport in Tipp) "treated" Galway even worse in that year's final when Galway were getting on top towards the end of the game with a number of disgraceful decisions.

Strong team named considering it is Westmeath we are playing. Good to see Daithi back and Jamie Ryan still on the panel despite picking up the injury before the Walsh Cup. Forward line should put up a big score.

And Conor Whelan at the far end of the bench. Interesting team though.

Between 2009 and 2015 we struggled to beat Laois and Antrim and lost games to both. We were like you were in the late 60s early 70s back then. Had you not been in Leinster we would likely have won more than the 1 than we have since that period though. We would've won in 2017. Likely would've won in 2022 also. A couple of bizarre decisions cost us the Leinster SF in 2021 we should've won Leinster that year even with you in it.

I see you didn't respond to me saying Galway have been in 10 Leinster finals winning 3 since joining in 2009. In that time Dublin have been in 4 winning 1 and Wexford in 2 winning 1. Contrast that to before Galway joined when Wexford were in 8 Leinster finals in a row since 2001 and only won 1. My point is that you have already stated a few times that Galway have not added to the competitiveness in Leinster and I am simply pointing out that you are completely wrong in that assertion by giving you the statistics since Galway joined in 2009 but of course everyone is entitled to their opinion!

Well Limerick were badly treated by Refs that year against both Tipp and Wexford Ironically Cork are our immediate neighbors and generally I dread seeing Cork Refs appointed to ref Limerick games. We have suffered at the hands of different of Cork Refs, so go easy on the Neighbors bit.
