Hi
Just wondering if anyone knows where to park for the match? Don't fancy the walk out from the city centre car parks. Thanks. An Mhí Abú!

Best of luck to the meath management players and all the fans that are making the journey today, a win today would be a dream start to o rourkes tenure and if we play to our abilities it's positively, hon the royals and an mhi abu.

Just want to wish Colm and the lads best of luck. Incredibly nervous bout this one. Hard to know where we stand but I reckon Meath by 6. Great crowd down in Cork so expect the crowd to get Meath over the line. Hoping Colm keeps our traditional short passing game that has been perfected in the last few years.

Cork were poor last year and I just don't see them getting near us. Interested to see if E Wallace can deliver in the half back line. Could be what we need. Our own Jack McCaffrey.

Hon the Royal!

The best of luck to Colm and the team today.Hopefully we can get the win but our away record ain't great. Not sure what to expect but hopefully we put in a good performance and see where it takes us.Home advantage might pull Cork over the line.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Well if last year results were enough to drop Andy (which I agreed with. ) but those same players saying we on the same level as tipp and Offaly now and great to play in tailteann cause Colm is in charge. Just shows their bias . Pathetic. I for one will not accept that."
Its performance levels that we want to see improve, staying in Div 2 will be a good campaign given the quality of Dublin, Derry and Kildare in comparison with ourselves. O Rourke's reign is only in its infancy ,will take time to settle

2 down at half time. Things looked bleak early on, but we started to got into it. Shane Walsh playing well. Great goal. Daithi McGowan looks gassed already. He's doing nothing. Cork winning most of the ball in midfield and cleaning up all the breaking ball.

Fortunate enough to be just two down here at half time, we keep kicking the ball away and cork are dominating possession, shane walsh doing very well hopefully others improve in second half.

Came out of croke park last year after the drubbing by the Dubs and it was obvious to see the players were not playing as a team and not playing for Andy Mc.

Definielty playing as a team now and a huge win.

Well done to everyone, I was not at all confident but delighted I was wrong.

Great win. Unreal 2nd half. Great intensity in the tackle. Showed some great free flowing football in patches. Some performance by Walsh. Finally he seems to be fulfilling his potential. Great to get a win 1st day out in the league

Huge secound half display from meath, shane walsh man of the match probably his best performance in a meath jersey, meath kept possession much better in the secound half and we deserved our win, we'll done players and management probably our biggest win in quite sometime roll on clare in navan next week, hon the royals.

Hopefully that quells some of the negativity on this here forum for a bit. I dunno if it's a case of a pessimist is never disappointed, but some of the comments pre-match were well wide of the mark. Some of us who had faith knew that Meath at 11/4 was printing money. Well done Colm and the lads!

I have to say, some of the negative s**** that was being spouted here the last few days was laughable. Already writing Meath off for the year without a ball being kicked. Admittedly I didn't think we'd win today, but I'm always hopeful and optimistic that we can get our s*** together.
Well done to the management and players on a great win. Here's to more good results over the next few weeks and months. Hon the royals

Great win. Anyone slating negativity beforehand needs to come back into reality. How could we have been anything other then negative, actually it was more realism then negativity. Couldn't have forseen our best away performance in years, easy to say I told ya so after the fact. Anyway, fair play to the team, hopefully shackles are off now and we can push on

One poster in particular had us in the tailtean cup before a ball was even kicked, I hope that particular individual is glad they were wrong today, Hon the Royal.

That was a very enjoyable win. Really seemed to have a plan going forward, particularly in the second half. Obviously, defence is a worry but we have a lot of scope to improve there with the players to come back.
Well done Colm and the team. Couldn't have asked for a better start to the league.

Ahh the unbelievers:). Brilliant second half when we incorporated the running game to great effect. Delighted for the players and management and those of us who drove the long distance down and now have to head back (but not until a victory snack box has been had) some great performances, yes first half was tentative with kicking the ball away, Shane walsh had best game for Meath since his debut. All in all delighted. And thank god management has more faith in themselves and the players than some supporters. So for the naysayers.
HON THE ROYAL

I know. And I'm called delusional. Still in cork waiting on my snack box but I'm absolutely thrilled. The 6 hour round trip will be worth it.
