Change Of Management?

I'm not saying whether Andy does or not (have the support of the players) and maybe he's waiting til after tonight to air his opinions but his silence has also been deafening. jack O'Connor left Kildare and Keane came out and said i have the support of the players. Andy hasn't publicly spoken (and if he does after the vote I'll be interested to hear what he says) since the county board meeting. Keane was making those in Kerry football know he had player support and maybe something similar from Andy might've helped his case for being retained tonight. Keoghan and Menton are still the senior players on the panel and their words might've helped the case for him staying. Now maybe the players are sick of Andy and that's why we've heard nothing either (I'm not saying that's the case as Andy has worked with a lot of them previously at underage/club etc) With his son being the team captain it would be wise if Donal or Bryan were the one's to speak out on behalf of the squad after tonight's vote

The whole panel are behind Andy, don't think people grasp the potential repercussions of this, despite what ladoosh25's completely fabricated 2 sources have said

What a mess created by the County board.! Andy should have been given the courtesy of a proper review, and outcome within a couple of weeks of our completion of the championship. Even though personally i believe he had a fair shot at the job ,and in my view time for him to move on. Why should he stay in these circumstaces ?
Timing is disgraceful ,and we know who is resposible there. From observation i think Andy will respond to this insult by telling them to get stuffed, and walk away from a situation brough about by incompetence not on his part in this instance !

And of course you know this for a fact. What makes your "sources" any more credible? I'd maybe believe you if you gave a balanced opinion on Andy but we know you're incapable of doing so. You've tried to act like you're in the know before and were shown up for not being. And have a bit of respect for everyone's opinion? Labeling a poster as you have just shows up your poor debating.

Worth noting also as not sure if it's been said, it only requires 40% of the vote from clubs for Andy to remain tonight rather than it being a 50/50 majority wins - this is due to the executives vote of no confidence needing needing 60%

Hopefully the clubs do the right thing tonight so we don't wake up tomorrow being the laughing stock of the country and 2022 being a write off. We can then ask serious questions on the executive and the ****show they caused another day."
Why don't you elaborate on the accusation of me telling lie after lie. Point them out.

Sure he doesn't even know for a fact that the kerry players sent a letter of support to the Kerry County Board. There is no evidence of any letter being sent to the CB. Peter Keane claimed he had the support but again no Kerry player came out and publicly confirmed this.

You sound very desperate. I asked why no players came out in support of him. You say the whole panel are behind him but show no evidence of this. I didn't say I have 2 sources that the panel are not behind him. What I did say was that 2 players said they would play for him again. Why don't you read my posts properly.

He has said with backing of clubs, "myself and the management team will be back at work on Wednesday morning for the good of Meath football." No way he will go.

Replying To LeitrimRoyal99:  "Colm Parkinson's Joe.ie GAA podcast today calling out the stupidity of our county board. Same with Tommy Rooney, Ger Gilroy and Eoin Sheehan on Off the ball. And from a more local perspective Davy Rispin and Mickey Brennan talking about the recklessness of it. Regardless of what you think about Andy McEntee, voting a manager out 3 months after the team has been knocked out and with players already working away on gym programs it is absolute lunacy to vote in a new manager. This discussion isn't even about whether it's the wrong decision to try and push out Andy. It's about the timing and the lack of a replacement. That's the embarrassing part of it"
Chronicle now say, 2/3 majority needed to remove him. So looks like a safe bet to stay.

I would imagine that the players are staying well away from making statements to the media and rightly so, but I am sure they are all advising their club delegates to support Andy in the vote.

The last thing I'll say on this before the vote. If anybody thinks that the Meath team would be better next year with a new manager appointed in November than with the continuity of Andy then a) you're really overeating the overall level of player around Meath or b) you dislike Andy so much that it's clouded your judgement. If the vote was in July between Andy and maybe a Colm O'Rourke then there would rightly be a fierce debate about it. To suggest Meath would be better in 2022 and then eventually in a better place for the minors of 2020&2021 to come into by replacing the manager with a phantom candidate in November is really not thinking straight. All prominent media members I've heard talk about this (Tommy Rooney, Anthony Moyles, Tommy Rooney, Fergal Lynch, Davy Rispin and Mickey Brennan, Colm Parkinson) share this viewpoint, stability and incremental improvements while building a team is what is required before the influx of the last 2 minor teams with their proper pathway to under 20's. Let's hope the club delegates don't embarrass us further and ruin any chance in 2022 tonight

Are you sure about that ? As far as I am aware the players have sent a letter. As in Kerry's case it wasn't known until afterwards.

I'd say that's probably a fair statement. Of course things need to be improved, but on the whole I think the vast majority of the players want him to continue for another year at this time of the year. They were all expecting him to be there and now for a process to be set up with someone maybe appointed in December is crazy. The players know this as does the vast majority of Meath supporters, if this was to be done, July or August was the time. Not now
