Explain how he attempted to force the issue?? By giving players training programmes??. That's just common sense or else players would have been months behind other teams no matter who was going to be in charge. Stop making s**t up again

Why would Andy want to stay on where the executive are not fully behind him. It would be very difficult for the man to go into Dunganny or Navan a few times a week and be looking at lads standing around only mad for him to fail with the knives at eh ready . Let face it he wont be short of offers if he does walk. Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 418 - 12/10/2021 09:31:36 2385309 Link 0 |

A little bit off topic, but I fear still relevant today. Eamonn O Brien, got caught in a Power play post Louth Leinster Final disaster of 2010 . At the time there was a total lack of leadership by the Executive of CB & Chairman, where is their wisdom initially, they said decision for a replay was "up to the Players & Management" ...throwing them nicely under the Bus.....Subsequently...it was portrayed/seen that Eamonn was Incumbent Chairman' Pick that year...and then Opposing Candidate represented change From the disaster of the fallout of that leinster Final debacle...So in getting rid of Chairman....Eamonn was thrown out with the waste water....not the first & wont be the last time that good people involved become collateral damage to internal powerplays at CB....and again , like McEntee or not ….there is turmoil as usual down in Navan

Well that's a load of rubbish. None of them will leave because he is gotten rid of. They're not there for him They're there for themselves. Isn't it strange that not one player has come out in support of him. The silence is defening.

Good enough assessment although Barney still held on and was still in the chair two years later in 2012. So maybe slightly out there as he didn't fall along with EOB

Don't listen to this nonsense, most of the players on the panel are still involved with their clubs training 3 times a week at least. So where would they get time to be doing this extra training. His loyal band of supporters on here night and day singing his praises. He has failed miserably. Time to cut him loose and move on. To hear people say that success is getting to div1 well we're in div2 and failed to get promotion so time for a fresh approach

Countrywide, thats a big statement, doubt there will be much demand for his service, espically at county level. Look at CV ( not even taking his antics into account) over last few years and I doubt he would get an interview not to mind a job. Stats. read average from start to present.

I think tonight's vote could become irrelevant in my opinion. A huge dent has been put in the trust between management and the county board, the people who are supposed to be supporting him! We may be looking for a new management team regardless of the vote. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 997 - 12/10/2021 11:26:18 2385335 Link 0 |
correct...Barney survived & Eamonn fell...so all in all...exact opposite to what one would have needed for the county, but fact remains that Eamonn was fall guy to CBs handling of the whole affair .

He was fully aware of review and the ratification process that was due to take place, yet he went public (media) with his new backroom team, trying to force CB to once again do the wrong thing and rubber stamp another year. Fair enough get things sorted but have the respect to keep in inhouse. This making things up arguement is just childish.

Expect a close enough vote, but clubs to keep him there for another year.

It really isn't strange at all. Players will very very rarely come out publicly back a manager in situations like this for obvious reasons. Andy has the full backing of the majority of the panel . I expect the clubs to see sense tonight and back him also.

This definitely won't happen. If the clubs vote to keep Andy tonight he will 100% be manager next year

The Kerry players sent a letter of support to the county board in support of Peter Keane. The Meath players have not.

That worked out well for him!!! The majority of the Meath panel are fully behind the current management.

Do you know for a fact they havent? I'd expect the statements read out before tonights vote will contradict your comment

Also the Kerry players did not do that. Peter Keane claimed he had the support of the players but there was very little to back up the claim

I'm really not sure how tonight will go, some will have an axe to grind with Andy and will vote with the county board, other will have the axe to grind with the county board and will retain Andy. Its what way the numbers fall. brian (Meath) - Posts: 1973 - 12/10/2021 14:39:58 2385378 Link 11 |
