Score difference on McEvoy's mind

Derry hurling boss John McEvoy

Derry manager John McEvoy has stated that score difference could play a massive part in the placings in HL2B.

Kildare, Derry, Down and Roscommon (who Derry face on Sunday) are all scraping for a place in the league final and a chance of promotion to HL2A.

The Lilywhites and McEvoy’s charges both have two games remaining, while Down only have one with Kildare facing Derry in their last game.

There a lot of permutations ahead of those final round of games, and McEvoy told the Derry Journal that their poor scoring difference could go against them.

“There are three teams close to the top and it may come down to scoring difference at the end of it all,” stated McEvoy.

“Going to Roscommon we have a few things to work on. We are three from three and building with a bit of competition coming into the squad but this weekend is a different animal.

“We are away on a three-hour trip to Roscommon and we have to manage that side of things as well.”
