Former Republic of Ireland international Eunan O'Kane has been appointed as Derry club Banagher’s new senior football manager for the 2026 season.

The 35-year-old, who earned seven caps for the Republic of Ireland, was previously involved during Paul Bradley’s time in charge of Banagher and was part of the coaching set-up with Moneyglass ladies as the Antrim side reached the All-Ireland club senior final against eventual five-in-a-row winners Kilkerrin-Clonberne.

Along with international duty, O'Kane, who is a native of Banagher, played in England for Leeds United, Bournemouth and Luton Town before retiring in 2021 following a series of injury problems.

This past season saw him helping out his father Charlie and Maxi Curran during Moneyglass ladies' hugely successful year, with the latter having recently been appointed as the new manager of Derry senior outfit Loup.

Banagher are still waiting on their maiden Derry SFC title, while the club’s hurlers having previously won the senior championship three times.
