Maxi Curran is the new manager of Derry senior football club Loup.
The appointment comes just a week after the Downings man managed surprise packets St Ergnat’s, Moneyglass in their All-Ireland LGFA senior club final defeat to Kilkerrin-Clonberne. Curran previously managed the Donegal ladies and was also part of Jim McGuinness’ backroom team in 2012 when Donegal landed the Sam Maguire. In addition, he has worked with a number of men’s club sides in Donegal, Tyrone and Monaghan.
Ulster club SFC kingpins in 2003, Loup were knocked out of this year’s Derry SFC by back-to-back champions Newbridge.
Another Donegal native, John McNulty from Kilcar, has been appointed as senior football manager of Fermanagh outfit Devenish for 2026.
