Blackhall Gaels 1-11 Nobber 0-6
Blackhall Gaels retained their Intermediate Football Championship status with this eight point win over Nobber in the Meath Intermediate Football Championship final last night under lights at Cortown.
Blackhall defeated Nobber in last years Relegation quarter final and recorded a five point win over the same opposition when they met in the opening round of this years championship.
Dermot Carty got the eventual winners first score and a brace from Liam Jennings left the teams level at the break, 0-3 each.
Jennings raised three white flags in the opening ten minutes of the second half and Blackhall led 0-6 to 0-5. From there on the team in Blue and Gold dominated. Hugh Smith opened up a two point lead. Jennings added another three before the games only goal arrived courtesy of Paul Kelly as the full time whistle approached. Shane Whitty closed out the scoring and Blackhall Gaels secured another year in the Intermediate ranks. Nobber, who won the IFC in 2019, will play their championship football in the junior grade for 2025.
